The
biggest game of this group was up next when South
Leam FC met DHL
Prague Blue. The equation was simple –
win and secure 2nd place and with it Cup qualification
and an outside chance of Group B glory. A defeat
would mean 3rd place and possible Cup qualification.
That all depended upon the DHL Prague Red versus
AON Top Guns result playing simultaneously on
Pitch A.
South
Leam FC came out firing on all cylinders and the
game was effectively over by half time. Adam Johnson
set the ball rolling, Ryan Parisi (scoring for
the fourth consecutive game, 7 for the tournament)
added a second and Matt Florida (6 for the tournament)
all scored before the turnaround. At 3-0 DHL Prague
Blue would need a miraculous comeback. The task
got even harder when Sean Collins slotted home
a second half penalty and the game finished 4-0.
As
it turned out, results elsewhere would mean both
teams qualify for the Cup competition. DHL Prague
Blue had relegated their Red team into the Plate.
Funnily enough, exactly the same as they had done
in the 2008 Barca Fives.
The
last game saw top versus bottom when Kehar
Club met Real Sociable
Lads. A point would be good enough for
Kehar Club to win Group B. A win would see them
do it in style with a 100% record. The latter
was always going to be the probable result and
so it proved as Kehar Club went to work and showed
no remorse for the travelling team. Josef Rakosnik
did his top goalscorer chances some good with
two, Petr Pergler bagged another two, Jan Sekerka
two and then one each for Jan Rakosnik, Pavel
Trminek and Ivo Sekerka. A 9-0 win a terrific
confidence boost for the Czechs going into the
Cup quarter-finals.
