SK
Zelenec were on a high after rescuing a late point
with only four men versus a strong Athletico Apsley.
This is just what Bartley Greeners did not want
as they were looking to regain the form of their
victorious first match following two subsequent
defeats. The form could not be found though and
the Czechs completed the biggest win of the tournament,
12-0. Amongst the scorers were two hat-tricks
from Tomas Krul (4) and Radek Sulta (3) plus doubles
from Stanislav Krebs, Martin Zahumensky and a
goal from Jiri Jindra.
Athletico
Apsley would consider it two points dropped from
their 4-4 draw with SK Zelenec and were looking
to get back to winning ways against the Wild Rovers.
More great effort from the Irish but still no
points to show for it although goals for Brendan
O Sullivan and Brendan Boyce would have pleased
them on a personal note. Athletico Apsley claimed
the three points though scoring five along the
way as they won 5-2. Joseph Tilt, Tommy Peters,
Darren Cocking and Benedict Rowe (2) on the scoresheet
for them. A win that would move them into the
top two and the Cup qualification places.
The
Shooting Shamrocks and SK Zelenec, both on 7 points,
met in the final game of round 4. A win would
put either side in pole position for the Group
B crown and all but secure a Cup place. A defeat
left work to do and a draw would keep the group
as tight as Big Daddy in a pair of small leather
trousers.
The
game was close as you may imagine and in a game
of five goals the match would be decided in favour
of the Czech side as two goals from Sean O Shaugnessy
would not be enough for The Shooting Shamrocks
as they lost 3-2.
