Round
2 in Group B started off much the same as round
1with two teams finding themselves locked at 1-1
for the fourth consecutive match. Justin Phillips
of Prisoners and Martin Zahumensky were the scorers
on this occasion. In round 1 it was the Czechs
who benefitted and Prisoners who lost out to the
odd goal in three. Roles were to be reversed this
time out when Cleyton Cabral cut in from the left
to smash home a stunning solo effort to win the
game and put the Prisoners back on track.
It
was to be no consecutive game going to 1-1 in
the next fixture though as Bartley Greeners failed
to find the net against Athletico Apsley. In fact,
it was a match to forget for the Bartley Greeners
as Athletico Apsley ran riot. The goals were shared
around Tommy Peters (4), Benedict Rowe (2), Richard
Higham (2) Billy Thompson (2) and Darren Cocking
all scoring as Athletico Apsley completed a comfortable
11-0 win. They even found time for a yellow card
for Joseph Tilt amongst all the goals.
Bartley
Greeners were then in action again and maybe they
were still shell-shocked from their previous match
as they struggled again. Take nothing away from
a quality Shooting Shamrocks performance though
as Anthony Foley set them on their way followed
by goals including two from Gary Manning and two
from Sean O Shaughnessy. Bartley Greeners found
the net this time though through Jonjo Davies
as the game ended 6-1 to the team representing
Askeaton FC.
