The Plate Final saw The Vic FC take on Sheffield Thursday Navy in what was already a familiar matchup from earlier in the competition. The Vic FC arrived with a record of three wins from five matches, scoring five and conceding seven, and had already beaten Sheffield Thursday Navy 2-0 during the group stage. Sheffield Thursday Navy came into the final with two wins from their last two matches, having built some momentum after a mixed day that saw them score eight and concede thirteen across the tournament. Despite that improvement, they faced a Vic FC side who had already shown they knew how to get the better of them.

The Vic FC made a strong start and quickly asserted control of the final. Harold Jacobs opened the scoring to give them a deserved 1-0 lead, continuing their efficient attacking output in key moments. Sheffield Thursday Navy struggled to respond in the early stages and were then hit by further misfortune when Nathan Crail turned the ball into his own net, extending the Vic FC's advantage to 2-0 before half-time. That second goal gave The Vic FC a comfortable cushion and placed Sheffield Thursday Navy under significant pressure heading into the second period.

After the break, The Vic FC produced a dominant and composed performance to put the final beyond doubt. Ross McGuigan added a third goal to extend the lead, before Archie Ring struck twice in quick succession to further underline their superiority. Sheffield Thursday Navy were unable to recover as The Vic FC controlled the game in all areas, limiting their opponents' chances and continuing to punish them clinically in

attack. By the time the final whistle approached, the outcome was already settled.

The Vic FC closed out a commanding 5-0 victory, securing the Plate title in emphatic style and completing a treble over Sheffield Thursday (including the Blue squad) across the tournament. It was one of the most convincing Plate Final performances seen in the Mallorca Fives with the largest margin of victory since 2015 when Seleccion Balear defeated 2Goals1Cup. It was also a fitting response after going out in the Semi-Finals in Amsterdam the previous year to go all the way to glory in 2026.

For Sheffield Thursday Navy, it was not the end to the competition they wanted, but their late run of form and two knockout wins ensured they left with pride restored after a challenging group stage.

With this victory, The Vic FC put their names in the record books for perpetuity and they celebrated in style as the champagne flowed during the celebrations.

Huge congratulations to the 2026 Mallorca Fives Plate winners…

….. The Vic FC!
