Group B got underway with FC Moldova Montreal making their debut in Lisbon, having travelled all the way from Canada to take part in the Veterans competition. Their presence was warmly acknowledged, and they arrived with plenty of anticipation surrounding how they would adapt to the European stage. Their opponents, Los Guerreros, were returning to action in eurofootballfives competition and were expected to provide a strong early test of the group's competitiveness.

From the outset, FC Moldova Montreal settled into the contest impressively and quickly established control in midfield. Their organisation and sharpness in the final third began to tell, and they broke the deadlock through Denis Creanga, who gave the Canadians a deserved lead. Maxim Macari then doubled the advantage before the break, ensuring FC Moldova Montreal went into half-time 2–0 up and firmly in command of the opening fixture.

Los Guerreros attempted to respond after the interval, but FC Moldova Montreal continued to manage the game effectively, limiting clear chances and maintaining their structure. The Canadians' pressure eventually told again when an own goal from Sam Conway extended their lead, further underlining their dominance in the contest. The match finished 3–0, marking an excellent debut victory for FC Moldova Montreal and a statement win to start their Group B campaign after the long journey from Canada. For Los Guerreros, it was a disappointing opening result, but with more matches still to come in the group stage, they remained in with a chance to respond and recover.

FC Moldova United were awarded a 3–0 walkover victory after Estrela Camarate (Por) failed to appear for the fixture, a disappointing outcome for both sides and for the group as a whole. While the Moldovan team collected their first points of the campaign on paper, they were left without the chance to build rhythm or test themselves on the pitch. We can only apologise to FC Moldova United and the other teams in Group B.

Santa Cruz (Bra) opened their campaign against FC Moldova Montreal (Can). The latter were playing their second Group B fixture and looking to build on a promising opening result, with the Canadians having already impressed on debut with a 3–0 win. FC Moldova Montreal's early momentum had seen them score freely without conceding. Santa Cruz were also making their first appearance and eager to establish themselves in what was shaping up to be a competitive group. The stage was set for a lively encounter between two debutant sides.

FC Moldova Montreal continued their strong start to the tournament and once again struck first, with Dmytro Pashkov and Ion Poia combining to give the Canadians a 2–0 lead. At that stage, they had now scored five unanswered goals across their opening matches, underlining their sharpness in front of goal and defensive organisation. Santa Cruz struggled to break through in the first half, with FC Moldova Montreal controlling the tempo and carrying a deserved advantage into the break.

The Brazilian side responded after half-time and began to find their rhythm in the contest. Leandro Sandas pulled a goal back to reduce the deficit and bring Santa Cruz firmly back into contention. However, Ion Poia restored the two-goal cushion for FC Moldova Montreal, only for Pablo Guerreiro to respond again and make it 3–2, setting up a tense finish as momentum briefly swung back and forth.

Despite the pressure, FC Moldova Montreal held firm in the closing stages to secure a hard-fought 3–2 victory. It was a second win in as many matches for the Canadians, who maintained their perfect start to Group B and demonstrated both attacking quality and resilience under pressure. Santa Cruz, meanwhile, showed encouraging signs in their response after a slow start, but were left to rue missed opportunities in a narrow defeat.

FC Moldova United became the final Moldovan side to begin their Group B campaign, completing a unique moment in eurofootballfives.com history with four Moldovan teams now in action. They faced Los Guerreros, who were already under pressure after an opening defeat to group leaders FC Moldova Montreal. With both sides keen to establish early momentum, there was added significance to this encounter in shaping the early group standings.

FC Moldova United made a flying start and quickly asserted control of the match, with Vitalie Tasca opening the scoring. Alexei Gorii then took over proceedings with a dominant first-half display, striking twice to put the Moldovans firmly in command at 3–0 by the interval. Los Guerreros struggled to contain their movement and intensity, finding themselves under sustained pressure throughout the opening period. The second half continued in much the same fashion, with FC Moldova United showing no signs of letting up. Gorii completed his hat-trick to underline his outstanding performance, before Oleg Cazacu added two further goals to extend the lead to 6–0. The Moldovan side's attacking play remained sharp and clinical, as they consistently punished defensive gaps and maintained control across the pitch.

Los Guerreros did manage a late consolation through Pete Conway, but it did little to change the overall outcome of a comprehensive 6–1 defeat. For FC Moldova United, it was a statement victory to open their campaign (on the pitch) in style, while Los Guerreros were left to regroup after a heavy defeat and reassess their chances of progressing from a highly competitive and very high standard Group B.

Santa Cruz (Bra) were awarded a 3–0 walkover victory after Estrela Camarate (Por) failed to fulfil the fixture, handing the Brazilian side three valuable points without kicking a ball. While Santa Cruz will be pleased to move onto the board in Group B, the outcome was a disappointing and we are sure they'd have much prepared to complete the victory on the field of play.
