Cenoura
Cars continued their outstanding start to the
2026 Lisbon Fives with a statement performance
against L'Albiceleste, extending their perfect
record at the top of Group A. The Portuguese side
came into the match having won both of their opening
fixtures without conceding, while L'Albiceleste
arrived level on points with the chasing pack
but sitting lower on goal difference despite a
win and a defeat. With both sides still firmly
in the mix for Cup qualification, the fixture
carried clear significance at the top end of the
table.
The
first half was a tight and tactical affair, with
L'Albiceleste showing why they remain one of the
most experienced tournament sides in the competition
– even they could be competing in the Veterans
category. They matched Cenoura Cars for large
spells, limiting clear chances and keeping the
league leaders relatively quiet in attacking areas.
Despite Cenoura Cars' growing dominance in the
group standings, they were unable to find a breakthrough
before the interval, and the sides went into half-time
locked at 0–0. After the break, however, Cenoura
Cars stepped up the intensity and began to assert
themselves more decisively in the final third.
The breakthrough arrived through Guilherme Castro,
whose goal opened the scoring and shifted momentum
firmly in favour of the Portuguese side. From
that point, Cenoura Cars looked increasingly dangerous,
with their attacking movement and quick combinations
causing problems for the French as they hunted
an equaliser.
They
sealed another impressive victory with further
goals from João Palma and a second from
Castro, completing a 3–0 win and maintaining their
100% record. The result kept Cenoura Cars firmly
in control at the top of the table, extending
their lead to six points and reinforcing their
status as early tournament frontrunners, while
L'Albiceleste were left to regroup despite a strong
first-half showing.

Sloane
FC and Clapham Southgate met in an all-English
Group A clash that quickly developed into one
of the most open and entertaining games of the
tournament so far. Sloane FC came into the game
on the back of their first win of the day and
were in 3rd place. Clapham Southgate were in
5th and looking for their first win of the day.
Both teams had scored 3 so far but defensively
Clapham Southgate had shipped 12 goals compared
to Sloane's 3. Could this be where the match
was won or lost?
Clapham
Southgate struck first through Kieran Harris,
who continued his remarkable scoring run by
netting in every game of the tournament so far.
However, Sloane FC responded strongly and turned
the match on its head with a burst of goals,
as Jonny Simmons equalised before Makana Burzwa
Rhys put them ahead, and Calvin Koske added
a third to make it 3–1. Harris struck again
before the break to complete a lively first
half, bringing the score to 3–2 at halftime.
The second half exploded into life immediately,
with Harris completing his hat-trick to level
the match at 3–3 and keep Clapham Southgate
firmly in contention. The game then swung back
in Sloane FC's favour, as Jonny Simmons restored
their lead at 4–3 before Joe MacDonald extended
it further to 5–3, punishing Clapham Southgate's
increasingly stretched defence as they sought
to get back into it for a second time.
Sloane
FC sealed the result late on through Daniel
Payne to complete a 6–3 victory in a thrilling
contest full of attacking intent. The win marked
their second consecutive victory, lifting them
up to second place in the group, while Clapham
Southgate were left disappointed playing their
part in a high-scoring defeat despite another
excellent individual performance from Kieran
Harris.

Bonde
Sem Freio strengthened their position in Group
A with a commanding 4–0 victory over L'Albiceleste,
delivering a ruthless first-half performance that
effectively settled the contest before the interval.
The defending champions came into the match sitting
third with a game in hand and knowing a win would
move them firmly into contention for a top-two
finish, while L'Albiceleste were under pressure
after two consecutive defeats and in need of a
result to keep their Cup hopes alive.
From
the outset, the Brazilian side imposed themselves
with intensity and precision in attack, quickly
putting L'Albiceleste on the back foot. Pedro
Djuf, fresh from his hat-trick in the previous
game, continued his excellent form by opening
the scoring and setting the tone for a dominant
spell from Bonde Sem Freio. Their pressing and
movement caused constant problems, and they looked
dangerous every time they advanced into the final
third. The pressure told again as Wheverton added
the second goal (joint 6th top scorer last year)
further underlining the Brazilians' superiority,
before Djuf struck once more to complete his brace
and extend the lead to 3–0. L'Albiceleste struggled
to respond to the tempo and physicality of the
opposition, finding themselves unable to build
sustained possession or create pressure as the
game slipped away before half-time.
Gustavo
Oliveira then added a fourth to complete a devastating
first-half display, effectively ending the contest
before the break. With no further goals after
half-time, Bonde Sem Freio managed the second
period comfortably to close out a 4–0 victory,
keeping their push for the top two firmly on track.
For L'Albiceleste, the group phase was over and
they currently occupied 4th position – a Plate
qualification position. They needed Cenoura Cars
to defeat Clapham Southgate in the next game to
avoid elimination.

Cenoura
Cars secured the Group A title in the 2026 Lisbon
Fives with a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Clapham
Southgate, completing a perfect group stage record
in the process. The Portuguese side came into
the match needing just a point to confirm top
spot, while Clapham Southgate faced a near-impossible
task of requiring a four-goal win to have any
chance of overtaking L'Albiceleste, but despite
the contrasting pressures, both teams produced
a competitive and lively encounter.
Cenoura
Cars made a strong start and continued their excellent
tournament form, taking the lead through Paulo
Magalhães before Fabio Monteiro added a
second to put them 2–0 up and in control. However,
Clapham Southgate responded positively, showing
they always had goals in them as Charlie Pyre
pulled a goal back to make it 2–1, giving the
English side belief heading into half-time. After
the break, Magalhães struck again to restore
Cenoura Cars' two-goal advantage at 3–1, putting
them within touching distance of another victory.
Clapham Southgate refused to fade, though, and
James Pye reduced the deficit once more to 3–2,
ensuring a tense finish as they became the first
team to score against the previously flawless
defence of Cenoura Cars.
Despite
late pressure, Cenoura Cars held firm to secure
their fourth consecutive win and confirm themselves
as Group A champions with a 100% record. For Clapham
Southgate, it was a narrow defeat and an encouraging
performance overall as they bowed out of the competition.

Sloane
FC and defending champions Bonde Sem Freio met
in a decisive final Group A fixture, with both
sides on six points and a place in the Cup competition
on the line. This was a de facto Cup Quarter-Final.
The Brazilians knew a draw would be enough thanks
to their superior goal difference, while Sloane
FC were required to win to break into the top
two, setting up a high-stakes encounter between
two of the group's strongest performers.
Bonde
Sem Freio made the more decisive start and quickly
underlined their attacking quality, with Wheverton
opening the scoring for his second goal in as
many games. Pedro Djuf, continuing his excellent
tournament form, then added a second to give the
Brazilians a commanding 2–0 lead and put them
firmly in control of qualification proceedings.
It was Djuf's 6 th goal of the tournament (so
far). Sloane FC responded before half-time through
Joe MacDonald, who struck his third goal of the
tournament to reduce the deficit to 2–1 and keep
his side's hopes alive going into the break. However,
Bonde Sem Freio reasserted themselves in the second
half, with Fabricio Simoes adding a crucial third
to restore their two-goal cushion and swing momentum
firmly back in their favour. It now meant Sloane
FC had to score 3 without reply in the closing
stages.
From
there, the defending champions managed the game
professionally to secure a 3–1 victory, confirming
second place in Group A and progression to the
Cup competition, where their title defence would
continue despite the early scare v Cenoura Cars.
Sloane FC, provided a spirited campaign and competitive
performances throughout, but had to settle for
third place and qualification for the Plate competition.
