The first final of the day would see Abdi versus L'Albiceleste. The two teams would need to summon one last burst of energy to ensure they would be collecting winners medals and the winning trophy later this afternoon in the presentation.

Let's have a look at the two teams' credentials for the Plate title:

Abdi (Por)

L'Albiceleste with 3x Cup titles to their name could join a select but growing list of teams who have lifted both Cup and Plate trophies in our tournaments. If they were successful today, they would be the 14 th team in our 20 year history to achieve this feat.

We had an unusual situation whereby in the Semi-Finals both the 4 th placed teams had beaten the 3 rd placed team from the opposing group. Statistically both teams were well matched. It was quite a coincidence that both teams had won their opening game, lost their next three and then won their previous game. Both teams had a top scorer on 4 goals. Both teams had conceded exactly 14 goals but the one difference came up front. Abdi had scored 13 to L'Albiceleste's 7. Could this extra firepower prove to be the difference?

Abdi made the brighter start and quickly established control of the match through sharper attacking play and greater urgency in the final third. Their pressure told as Osvaldo Silva opened the scoring to give the Portuguese side the lead, before Bruno Pires doubled the advantage to put them 2–0 up and firmly in command. L'Albiceleste struggled to find the breakthrough at one end whilst Abdi had the cutting edge at the other end.

The 2 nd half kicked off with Abdi leading 2-0. It was more of the same for the Portuguese with Flavio Oliveira taking centre stage, adding a third goal to extend the lead to 3–0. Abdi's attacking momentum showed no sign of slowing, and they capitalised further on L'Albiceleste's disjointed defending when Oliveira struck again to make it 4–0 by the interval, effectively putting the Plate Final beyond the reach of the French side. Abdi secured a 4–0 victory and lifted the Plate title, ending their campaign on a strong note, while the French side were left to dwell on a difficult final after a promising start to the tournament. They were the oldest side in the Open Age section and had the right age criteria to play in the Veterans section so maybe that's an option for the future in the quest for a 4 th eurofootballfives.com title. The all-time record is 5 titles (CIS Committee, Belarus).

First of all, we offer our consolations to L'Albiceleste and it was great to see them on tour again.

Huge congratulations go to our 2026 Lisbon Tournament Plate champions – Abdi. Enjoy your celebrations.
