* Barley FC (Eng) won on Golden Goal.

We were now getting to the business end of the tournament and into the Plate Semi-Finals. It was an all-England encounter in the first Semi-Final as Bozeat All Stars met Barley FC. At stake was a place in the 2012 Barcelona Fives Plate Final.

Bozeat All Stars had proven tough opposition all day but the results were up and down. Barley FC were growing into the tournament and had just put two wins together at the right time as they were hitting a rich vein of form. With 5 games played each the teams would need to muster the energy one more time to reach a European final.

It was a game where both defences were on top and neither team's attack could find a way through as Bozeat's Gary Cogings and Barley's Nigel Senior both kept clean sheets. At full time the teams could not be separated and so we entered Golden Goal extra time.

One piece of brilliance now or one mistake would prove glorious or disastrous in equal measure. Who would claim glory? Who would grab the headlines? Step forward James Reece of Barley FC who scored the Golden Goal and sent his team into the Plate Final. It was a tough way to go for Bozeat All Stars but they'd had a very successful day.

Futbol 7 and Have Ago Heroes met in the second Semi-Final. Whereas goals were hard to come by in the first Semi-Final we saw plenty in this game. Futbol 7 came into the Semi-Final on the back of the most comprehensive Quarter-Final result whereas Have Ago Heroes arrived here on the back of the tightest Quarter-Final victory. Have Ago Heroes were good friends of Barley FC so a win here would mean a Final with a ‘derby' atmosphere.

It could be argued the extra tension of that Quarter-Final and the extra time may have taken its toll on the Have Ago Heroes as they fell 4-1 to Futbol 7.

In the first half things were close and the Spanish held a narrow advantage going into half-time but in the second period they edged clear 3-1 and then 4-1 to book their place in the Final. There were two more goals for Alber Trillo Gonzalez taking his tally for the day to 6 plus strikes from David Campos Vidal and Xavi Garcia Osborne. Cal Quinn scored his second in as many games for Have Ago Heroes but it was only a consolation on this occasion.
