Group C was turning out to be tighter than a camel's ar5e in a sandstorm and we went into Game 6 with all to play for. Next up was Drunk Perfect versus Banter Bus. The Spanish needed a win to move into Cup contention with anything less making that goal all but impossible. For Banter Bus, they could join the Hungarians at the top on 6 points and with a big win could even sit outright 1 st on goal difference. A draw would see them tread water and defeat make the group really interesting.

At the end of the first half the teams turned around level at 1-1 courtesy of goals from William McCready (Banter Bus) and Feri Fernandez (Drunk Perfect). The draw would not really help either team leaving them treading water in the Group C table. However, neither team could find the winning goal to gain the extra two points. The final score left the two teams remaining in 3rd and 4th – giving opportunities to those above to extend the lead at the top.

Budapest Celtic Lions entered their 3rd game of Group C with a 2 point lead and a chance to open up a 5 point gap at the top to ensure Cup qualification and virtually assure them of the league title. In their way stood Bozeat who had yet to collect a point but were no pushovers – losing each game by just the one goal on each occasion.

This was top versus bottom in Group C and so often these encounters go with the formbook. It was therefore a little surprise that Bozeat scored the first goal through Gary Baker. As we've said though Group C was tight and Bozeat were no pushovers so it wasn't a shock. The goal came relatively early and Bozeat held the 1-0 lead going into half-time.

So, could Budapest Celtic Lions hit back in the second half? They had the time to do it but could not find a way through the Bozeat defence and goalkeeper Tony McDonnell kept his first clean sheet of the tournament. It was a fantastic result that really but the cat amongst the pigeons.

Bozeat rose to 3rd place and were only three points off top meaning the whole group was separated by just four points.

Have Ago Heroes were now in action against Banter Bus FC. The results of the previous two games had worked in the favour of Have Ago Heroes as they knew a win now would mean they took 1st place in Group C with another game still to play. For Banter Bus FC this was last chance saloon but they could hit top with a win themselves. A draw would open the door for other teams in the Group. Everyone was watching in eager anticipation.

It was advantage Banter Bus FC early on as Dominic Pitt gave the boys in blue the lead. William McCready made it 2-0 before half-time and Banter Bus FC were in the ascendency. In such a close group a two goal lead was gold dust. When Liam Hatcher made it 3-0 the points were in the bag and David Jamieson's 4th was the icing on the cake. Banter Bus FC had one foot in the Cup – Have Ago Heroes could still deny them with a win in the final match though.

Before that we had Drunk Perfect versus Bozeat to enjoy. This was another intriguing contest. Drunk Perfect had only lost one game but somehow found themselves in 5th place – surely an unjust position. Bozeat had a chance to go 2nd on 6 points if they could pick up another win and gave themselves a good chance of making the Cup. However, if they lost they would be in the Wooden Spoon – that's how tight the margins were in Group C.

Drunk Perfect took the lead in this one through Anders Ragnar and as things stood they were off the bottom and into 3rd place. Bozeat still had time to hit back but really needed to score twice to have hope of making the Cup or realistically a place in the Plate. An equalizer would be equally as good for this purpose but proved elusive as the Spanish team held on for a 1-0 victory and a great finish to their group C challenge. Bozeat, rather cruelly, would be in the Wooden Spoon competition this afternoon.

The final game of Group C would see Budapest Celtic Lions host Have Ago Heroes. The teams were sitting pretty in 1st and 2nd at the half-way stage but both had suffered defeats leaving Cup qualification far from certain. Banter Bus FC had taken full advantage and would be in the Cup regardless of the result here – but who would join them? Have Ago Heroes needed a victory to leapfrog their opposition but a draw would be good enough for the Lions.

How would these teams respond to their first defeat of the day? Well Budapest Celtic Lions appeared to have picked themselves up more quickly as Nicolas Landy fired them into the lead. This made their position very healthy – not only did it give them a goal cushion but it forced Have Ago Heroes to come onto them probably more than they wished and allow them to play on the counter attack. A second goal, from tom Gruber, strengthened the Lions position further and piled the pressure on Have Ago Heroes.

The half-time whistle blew giving Have Ago Heroes a mountain to climb in the second half. A goal back would make it interesting but the Lions defence proved impenetrable as Matt WB in the Budapest Celtic goal kept everything out for his second clean sheet of the day. Budapest Celtic Lions would progress to the Cup as Group C champions. Have Ago Heroes would qualify for the Plate in 4th.
