After May 2020 and May 2021 had to be postponed due to Covid it was fantastic to be back on tour in May 2022. There was a lot of excitement about returning to the party island of Mallorca and it certainly lived up to its reputation.

Defending champions from 2019, Ecuador 100%, were back and gunning for further glory. Since 2007 only 1 team has ever successfully defended a title in one of our events. That was Atletico Do Hollande who won the 2010 and 2011 Algarve Open. In over 120 tournaments no-one had repeated that feat....until now. They were pushed all the way by Lindfield FC A but the South Americans won 3-1 in the Cup Final.

In the Plate competition there was travelling success for Bayern Badonde (Eng). They lifted their first silverware in eurofootballfives.com tournament action as they defeated Spanish team Urbansport '22 courtesy of a penalty shoot-out win.

The personal honours were claimed by Stuart Brown of Lindfield FC A who scored 14 on the day. Many congratulations to him and thank you to everyone who participated. It was a lot of fun!

Lisbon is always a highlight in our calendar and 2022 was no different. We had an amazing turnout with 36 teams signed up (24 in the Open Age, 12 in the Veterans). The home nation are always strong in this event fielding 4 of the previous 6 winners. They were strong again providing the two finalists. CDAL defeated RAF2 to lift the 2022 title.

In the Plate there was success for France as Blue Collar Revolution defeated Riise's Pieces in the final.

There was a surprise in the Trophy as Skidmarks (with 3 eurofootballfives Cup wins) were involved and they went on to claim victory defeating Moles Salah who were on debut in our events.

In the Veterans tournament there was further success for FC Mahou. They claimed their second Veterans tournament and fourth overall in our events. At this level they now have success at the 2017 Mallorca Veterans and 2022 Lisbon Veterans. They defeated FC Dad in the Cup Final who were making their debut at the Veterans level. FC Mahou required penalties to see off their opponents.

Penalties were also required in the Plate as Santa Maria emerged victorious on penalties having equalised in the final minute of normal time. They defeated ACE & The Swagmen in the Plate Final.

The Amsterdam Fives was the first event in our Amsterdam trilogy which saw us operate Fives, Sixes and Sevens tournaments in the space of 8 days.

There was some quality action on show but after 7 games of action it was FC Kicks who emerged victorious following a 100% record throughout the day. They were pushed close in the Semi-Finals by Atletico Armada (4-3) before defeating Sporting Armada 6-2 in the Cup Final.

In the Plate competition there was debut success for Milstead who won a close one against Columbia's Finest FC. The match finished 1-1 and was then decided on penalties.

The 9th July 2022 was a historic date as it marked our first ever Sevens tournament and what a success it proved to be. The tournament was a sell-out and it was an exciting addition to our tour.

There were a number of teams in with a real shout of glory - City FC, The Gentleman's Club and Colonel Getafe all went close. Ultimately, it was Humble Goats who took the title. They needed penalties in the Semi-Final and Final to show just how competitive this event was.

In the Plate competition, there was joy for Turn Down For Watford. There was little doubt they were worthy of their success with a 5-1 win in the Semi-Final and a 5-2 win in the Final. They were powered by the goals of Jase Opoku-Afriyie - the tournament top scorer with 7 goals.

The Amsterdam Sixes is a highlight in our calendar and has sold out every year to date. The latest edition saw teams from England, France, Portugal and the Netherlands compete for the winners' trophy.

When we got down to the Semi-Finals we had last week's Sevens winners Humble Goats, RAF (Por), Dolce and Lallana (Eng) and Ball Bashers (Eng) set to do battle and all with a credible chance of victory. A strong Portuguese challenge was ended by Humble Goats whilst Ball Bashers emerged in the all-England semi. In the Cup Final Ball Bashers scored early and defended well to deny Humble Goats a sensational Sixes and Sevens double. Full credit to Ball Bashers - a great win.

The Plate competition was just as intriguing. Freshers FC claimed the victory as they defeated London French FC 1-0 in the Semi-Finals before a dominant 4-0 victory in the Final against local team Colden Hommodore.

Our late summer Veterans tournament hit Krakow for the first time in 2022. (although we have had Open Age tournaments dating back to 2007). We had a strong local line-up as Poland provided all four of the Cup Semi-Finalists. One of those teams was Alea Iacta Est who have won a Plate competition and also reached Cup Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and a Final without a victory.....until now. They won a thriller, 4-3, against Thursday Veterans to claim their first title and possibly the first of many.

In the Plate competition, 3 of the 4 Semi-Finalists came from England but it was still Poland who emerged victorious as Krwiodawcy survived a penalty shoot-out in the Semi-Finals before a 1-0 win over Bure Park Old Boys in the Plate Final.

The 2022 Barcelona Fives was the 17th edition of this great tournamernt and we had another great weekend in Spain with teams from England, France, Poland and Spain all assembled to do battle. We had a great atmosphere and for the first time since 2016 we had an all-English final as Norfolk N Chance met FC Yol. It was the former who took glory with a 2-1 win in the showpiece game of the tournament.

In the Plate competition there was travelling success for Polonia Limerick (Pol). They lifted their first silverware in eurofootballfives.com tournament action as they defeated defending Cup champions Club Esportiu Llefia (Spa) in the Plate Final via a penalty shoot-out.

The personal honours were claimed by Joe Sames  of Norfolk N Chance who scored 9 goals on the day. Many congratulations to him and thank you to everyone who participated. It was a lot of fun!
