The
3rd match in the Plate Group would surely give
us the best indicator yet of who was going to
become Plate champions. With both CSF
Kiwi and Art Hosteleria
on 3 points a win now would put either team in
command to go on and win the group and with it
the Plate title.
A
frantic first half saw four goals scored and it
was CSF Kiwi who grabbed the lion's share of them.
Oz Zamora scored twice and Graeme McGregor his
third of the day to put him 3-1 up with a solitary
strike from Cuallado in reply. The second half
became scrappy and particularly feisty with what
was at stake. As tensions rose the game lost shape
and when Art Hosteleria had a man sent off for
swearing at the referee the game was done and
dusted. CSF Kiwis were in the box seat at the
top of the Plate Group.
With
no previous CSF derbies in 6 tournaments we now
had our second in just over an hour in Valencia
. CSF Oz were determined
to get revenge on their counterparts and build
upon an excellent first half versus Art Hosteleria.
They were proving very competitive as they held
on strong against CSF
Kiwi. The Kiwis needed victory to open
up a six point lead at the top but were being
frustrated. In fact, parity at 0-0 was preserved
until half time. In the second half though Alex
Thomas got the all important goal to give CSF
Kiwi and from there the floodgates opened. Alex
Thomas went on to complete his second hat-trick
of the day. Tom Mottram's second of the day and
James Nott's third rounded off a 5-0 victory.
CSF
Kiwi now sat pretty on top and had one hand on
the coveted trophy. |
