CSF
Oz had started with a heavy defeat which
was followed by an improved performance although
they still came off second best. Shabbier
were already through to the Cup but that
did not effect their competitive spirit. There
was to be no mercy shown to the CSF and they ended
up with the biggest win of the day scoring 11
along the way without reply. MP Matthews helped
himself to a double hat-trick and Sam Gabriel
scored twice. Craig Matthews, Luke Adamson and
on own goal further increased CSF Oz's woes. CSF
Oz would be glad to see the back of Group A as
they moved into the Plate. It was onwards and
upwards for Shabbier with 3 wins out of 3.
The
final game was effectively a straight knock-out
tie between 9 Nana Budds and Art Hosteleria. Should
the game end in a draw it would be 9 Nana Budds
who claimed the place in the Cup competition that
was up for grabs courtesy of a superior goal difference.
9 Nana Budds were not leaving anything to chance
though by settling for a draw. They were really
up for this game and it showed as they virtually
sealed the result in the first half. Two goals
from Alex Easter and one from Gary Myhill put
them 3-0 up.
That
was the score at half-time and Art
Hosteleria now had a mammoth task to make
the Cup. They showed an awful lot of fighting
spirit as the changed the momentum of this game
in the second half and kept 9
Nana Budds honest. Time was against them
though and they were unable to complete a successful
comeback. Two goals from Nacher brought the game
back to 3-2 and that's how it finished.
9
Nana Budds claimed their place in the afternoon
Cup competition. Art Hosteleria would have to
settle for the Plate in search of glory. |
