Group B kicked off on Pitch B where GSF Drunkerz were to make their third appearance at the Krakow Trophy. They became the first Slovakian team to compete outside of Slovakia in eurofootballfives.com competition here in 2016. They went through the group phase unbeaten with 3 wins and 2 draws as they finished 2nd in Group A. In their Cup Quarter-Final they drew 1-1 with Nowa Huta Team but went out 5-4 on penalties.

The 2017 Krakow Trophy saw another unbeaten group phase again with 3 wins and 2 draws. The finished second in the group and qualified for the Cup Semi-Finals. A sensational 2-1 win over Swiss team Krakowcaine saw them reach a second eurofootballfives.com Cup Final. They played Big Time Krakow and the game finished 0-0 in normal time. They missed out on the title on penalties going down 4-3 in the shoot-out.

Today they kicked off against Giggs Boson FC (more on them later). GSF Drunkerz were unbeaten in 13 games in Krakow (excluding penalty shoot outs) but that proud record was soon about to end. Giggs Boson FC got off to a flyer with two first half goals from Tom Killeen. After the break it got even better for the English team with Will Davis extending the lead to 3-0.

It was a cracking (“Krak-ing”) start for Giggs Boson FC.

In Game 2 we had Danish Crown versus Banerka.

These were two teams on debut but both featured players who had competed in this tournament before over the years so were experienced in the set-up and the competition. The teams themselves though were unknown quantities and therefore had a blank canvas upon which to paint their footballing artistry.

As it turned out it was Banerka who painted a masterpiece. They made Danish Crown look like they didn't know which end of the paint brush to hold. Banerka flew out of the traps and quickly established a 3-0 lead. Jakub Sierraw was the main man as he wasted no time in scoring a superb hat-trick.

The 2nd half kicked off with Banerka retaining that 3-0 lead. The floodgates opened up in the second period as Kornel Krzyzak extended the lead to 4-0. Bartzomiej Wozak then announced himself to the tournament with a five goal burst that saw Banerka run out 9-0 winners. Unsurprisingly the biggest win of the day so far.

The last team to get their campaign underway was PVDC Eindhoven as they took on GSF Drunkerz.

PVDC Eindhoven played for the first time in our tournaments at the 2018 Mallorca Tournament. They got off to a winning start (3-0 v Yac Club Reserves) before suffering a 1-0 loss to Ecuador 100 (who won at the 2019 Mallorca Fives). They picked up two more wins (2-0 v Purnell Youth 2, 2-0 v 3 Lions) before finishing the group with a 0-0 draw over Fiorentina Turner. This ensured they would finish second in the table and qualify for the Cup competition. In the knock-out phase they were eliminated (1-0) by Spain's Urbansport.

12 months on they appeared at the 2019 Barcelona Fives and drew what proved to be a tough group. They began well with a 1-1 draw against FK Aliance of Latvia. They then slipped to defeat against previous winners Black Sheep but bounced back with a 2-1 win over Paralytic Athletic U23s. A narrow 1-0 defeat to RAF Fylingdales followed before another slender loss (3-2) to the group winners, Patagonia. It meant Trophy qualification where they picked up a 1-0 win over FNV (NL) and a 2-1 win over KLM (NL) to reach a European final. In that final they were victorious 1-0 over FC Dad to collect the Trophy and winners' medals.

PVDC Eindhoven struck first in this game as Saifeldin Affia opened the scoring for the English side. Matt Armstrong scored twice after the break to put PVDC in a commanding position. The Slovakian side were totally sunk when Saifeldin Affia bagged his second of the game. It was a superb 4-0 start for the English team.

Giggs Boson FC were next in action on Pitch B as they entertained Danish Crown.

Giggs Boson FC made their debut at the 2016 Barcelona Fives. It was a superb start to life in our tournaments with 5-0 and 2-1 wins. Results tailed off as they went on to finish 6 out of 8 teams. They came alive in the Trophy knock-out phase with a 3-0 win in the Quarters versus Telferscot FC, a 3-2 win over Shahs of Sunset in the Semis before drawing 1-1 with Bolivar in the Final. The Trophy would be decided on penalties. Being typically English in a shoot-out, Giggs Boson missed out on glory (2-1).

They drew a tough group at the 2018 Lisbon Tournament that saw Spain's Naranjitos (who had a 100% win record from 7 games in Barcelona) only finish 5th in the table. Giggs Boson were 6th – incidentally, the group also featured the 2016 Krakow Trophy champions. Giggs Boson went into the Trophy and picked up a 5-1 Quarter-Final win over FC United of Bob. They then succumbed 2-0 to Tysers in the Semi-Finals.

In 2019, Giggs Boson FC turned their attentions to the Sixes format in Amsterdam. They competed well at the start but suffered two narrow defeats (0-1, 1-2) before getting off the mark in their third fixture with a 2-1 win over Malo Guerreros. They had two tough games to finish the group against both the teams who qualified for the Cup. They lost 3-1 and 3-0 as they finished 5th and missed out on the knock-out phase.

Giggs Boson FC had begun with a 3-0 win today and were soon to follow that up with another strong performance here. However, they had to come from behind to make it 2 wins out of 2. Pawel Zalewski put Danish Crown 1-0 up in the first half and extended that lead to 2-0 early in the second.

Giggs Boson then launched a sensational comeback. Will Davis struck twice to put the English team back on level terms. Pablo Martinez nudged them ahead and they never looked back. Will Davis completed a fine personal performance with another two goals as his team ran out 5-2 winners. Giggs Boson FC were top of the table.

The game that took us to the halfway stage of Group B was to be Banerka (Pol) versus PVDC Eindhoven (Eng). Both teams were looking to make it two wins out of two following comprehensive victories in their opening games.

Banerka arguably came into the game as favourites after a 9-0 slaughter of their opponents and they started off in the same vein here. Kornel Krzyzak scored for the second game running to put his team in the driving seat. However, they were not to have it all their own way as Saifeldin Affia scored his third of the tournament to make it 1-1.

The two teams kicked off the second half still level at 1-1. The third goal of the game proved to be pivotal. It was PVDC Eindhoven grabbed it as Matt Armstrong joined his team-mate on 3 for the tournament. At 2-1 they were heading for 6 points and a share of the lead at the summit of the Group B table. When Saifeldin Affia made it 3-1 the points were sealed.

It was a sensational win for PVDC Eindhoven as English teams enjoyed the two Cup qualification places at the half-way point.
