So
the Cup Group would see the tournament's elite
four teams assemble to do battle in a four team
group. Each team had three games to prove they
would be the worthy winners of the 2011 Krakow
Trophy title. The team in second place would pick
up the Runners-Up medals….so, where's your money?
On
Pitch A it was two unbeaten teams as Group B winners
Apsley House took on Bozeat All Stars. It was
the latter who struck first after the lunch break
through Dan Bayes third goal of the tournament.
Apsley House were behind for the first time in
the day but they were not behind for long as Alex
Kurzweil equalized to make it 1-1 at half-time.
In
the second-half we were to witness two wondrous
strikes. They were two of the best you're ever
likely to see in eurofootballfives competiton.
First up it was Richard Farman who scored a first-time
volley direct from the corner to bury it in the
Apsley House net. Bozeat All Stars were ahead
again. Once again though, Apsley House bounced
back and the glory boy this time was Darren Cocking.
Out on the left touchline and some distance from
goal there appeared to be nothing on but out of
the blue…bang…he struck across the keeper and
into the far corner for 2-2. Amazing stuff and
we suppose it was only fitting that the game ended
level and both teams picked up a well deserved
point. |
