Irish Mbassy took to the field against Wokingham FC looking to improve on their third place position at the expense of Wokingham FC who were second. A win for either would put them top.

It was first blood to the Irish Mbassy as Andy Keogh scored his side's first goal of the day. 1-0 became 2-0 before the break as Ian Corkhill put his team firmly in the driving seat. What could Wokingham FC muster in terms of a second-half fightback? They kept it tight at the back and shut the door on conceding further goals. However, at the other end they were struggling to find the net and the two goal cushion for the Irish Mbassy proved enough as they ran out 2-0 victors and rose to the Group B summit.

The Happy Union then picked up their 3 walkover points over Wola to move on to 5 points which put them in second place.

It all meant that when Apsley House met Wokingham FC they had slipped from 1st to 3rd and needed to win to reclaim pole position in Group B. They set about their task in earnest and showed Wokingham FC no mercy. Wokingham FC themselves had the opportunity to move top if they had won but from the moment Ben Rowe put Apsley House ahead that never looked likely.

Lee Carter's second of the tournament put Apsley House 2-0 up and when Tommy Peters made it 3-0 before the break the game was all but over. The second half was quieter as Wokingham FC stemmed the tide but they could find no way back and slipped to their second successive defeat. It was back to winning ways for Apsley House though and they knew they would be playing Cup football this afternoon.

Irish Mbassy and The Happy Union would come head-to-head in Game 9 of Group B in what was the most crucial game of the group. This would effectively be the tie that decided who would join Apsley House in the Cup and who would join Wokingham FC in the Plate. Irish Mbassy had the luxury of only requiring a draw. Draws had held back The Happy Union's chances thus far and they knew only a win would be good enough.

It would need to be a second half performance from them as we arrived at half-time 0-0. It was advantage Irish Mbassy. In the second half we were to see goals, 3 of them in fact and crucially for The Happy Union they scored the majority of them as strikes from Ashley Harry and then Luke Belson outgunned the strike from Nathan Arnold. The Happy Union had left it late but they got the result they needed. It was tough luck on Irish Mbassy but they had a chance for silverware in the Plate group.
