Round 7 of the 2010 Krakow Cup would decide each team's fate. With Azmot and Spasowskiego already confirmed first and last, the permutations for the 6 remaining teams were endless with all potential Cup participants and three having to settle for the Plate.

First up was FCB Dunkles who had the easiest task of the round when they met Spasowskiego. They currently sat in 3rd place and a win would guarantee them going through. At half-time though the teams were still level at 0-0 as Spasowskiego frustrated the Biermeisters. Surely, they could not blow their day's hard work in this game? The answer was a resounding no as Ben Smith made the vital breakthrough to settle the nerves. From their it was plain sailing as Dom ‘Pelican' Bouloux made it comfortable at 2-0. Ben Smith added his second of the game to put the game well and truly to bed. FCB Dunkles would be the second team confirmed in the knock-out Cup phase and well done to them.

The other Biermeisters squad, FCB Helles, would have a far tougher ask against Hutnik who were now unbeaten in four games. FCB Helles would have been on a high though having snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in their last game. It was Hutnik however who drew first blood as they took the lead through the familiar source of Piotr Wojcek.

Into the second half and that one goal lead survived and continued to keep Hutnik in the winning position they needed. Hutnik had to win and hope that Azmot would beat Over Crusaders II to make the Cup and they were fulfilling their part as they kept the FCB Helles forwards at bay. There was to be no last minute recovery in this game for the Biermeisters as they ran out of time and Hutnik claimed a vital 1-0 win. The result confirmed FCB Helles would be playing in the Plate and kept Hutnik waiting on their own fate.

With Hutnik's victory above Over Crusaders knew that their dreams of winning the 2010 Krakow Cup were over and the Plate was their destiny this afternoon. They could still play a part in the fate of the Group table and deny Sherwood Forest a place and help their sister squad into the bargain. All was going well in the first half as they held their opponents in AC Milan style shirts to 0-0 at the break.

Draws had stalled Sherwood Forest 's progress so far and a third draw here would probably mean they miss out on the Cup so they had to go all out for the win in the second half. Ben Bacon scored the vital opening goal for Sherwood Forest now could they hold onto it? Yes they could as an Ian Beerman double opened up a 3-0 lead and Sherwood Forest were now cruising into the Cup as they would leapfrog Hutnik and Over Crusaders II (pending the latter's result on Pitch B). There was time for Matt Isher to score a consolation for Over Crusaders but Sherwood Forest had done enough. In our opinion, they fully deserved their place in the top four. It was another tough result for Over Crusaders who were never outclassed in any game but just found themselves on the wrong end of a number of results.

The final game was the already qualified Azmot versus Over Crusaders II. The big question was could Over Crusaders II put the disappointment of their last game defeat behind them when they had Cup qualification 99% sealed but now had to gain victory against Azmot who had 6 wins out of 6. The Over Crusaders II showed an awful lot of character and matched their opponents tackle for tackle to go into the break at 0-0 but they still needed a goal. Without it, Hutnik would go through.

In complete contrast to the first half we saw goals aplenty in the second period. It was first blood to Over Crusaders II when Andy Smith scored the goal his team needed and as things stood it was Over Crusaders II who were in the Cup. As in their last game though they let a 1-0 lead slip and quickly found themselves 2-1 behind as Tomasz Armatys and Szymou Zelasko gave the Polish (Azmot and Hutnik!) something to cheer. Just as Over Crusaders II were being written off they did to Azmot what FCB Helles had done to them and come back from the dead in the final minutes. Liam White made up for the own goal by drawing the two teams level at 2-2 before Andy Smith scored with virtually the last kick of the game to make it 3-2 which is how it finished. It was a stunning comeback and especially so when you consider the strength of the opposition.

Over Crusaders II had qualified for the Cup in fantastic style and in the process had ended Hutnik's hopes of winning the 2010 Krakow Cup as they pushed them down to 5th place. Hutnik had gone 5 games unbeaten but were paying the price for a slow start and two opening defeats. Did Over Crusaders II care? Did they hell. The Cup awaited them.
