Into Round 5 and the teams knew we were getting to the business end of the group and performances were increasingly important. No more so for FCB Dunkles who after two opening victories were trying to arrest a slide of two defeats on the bounce which had seen them slip out of the Cup qualification places for the first time. Over Crusaders were also in need of a victory as they were 3 points off the Cup but with games slipping away.

When the game got underway it was FCB Dunkles who made the initial breakthrough and take the all important lead as the Pelican got his name on the scoresheet again. The goal meant Over Crusaders had it all to do not only in this game but in the overall context of the group. Try as they might though, the goal they needed proved elusive and FCB Dunkles held on for their third victory – all by the score of 1-0. The result was just what FCB Dunkles needed to push them back into the Cup qualification places but Over Crusaders were now staring at the Plate as they needed to win both their final fixtures and rely on over results going their way.

Over Crusaders II next game was versus Hutnik. Over Crusaders II had been top of the pile until defeat in their last fixture but they were still in a strong position in joint 2nd place in the table. This made them favourites going into their game again Hutnik who had managed one win in three against bottom of the table Spasowskiego. The early exchanges followed the form book as Over Crusaders II took a first half lead through Liam White. It was a lead they were to hold until the break.

This game was to be the proverbial game of two halves as Hutnik bounced back in style through Jurek Krzysztof. The Polish forward bagged both goals for his team as they completed a wonderful comeback to win 2-1. The win made it two wins in a row for the Polish team who jumped menacingly into 5th and just a point off Cup qualification.

If you were a betting man and could only choose one game in this tournament to put your house on then it would be Game 3 of Round 5 as top of the table Azmot met bottom of the table Spasowskiego. Azmot had a 100% record of victories and met Spasowskiego who had a 100% record of defeats and had yet to score a goal.

The game was as one-sided as predicted as Azmot raced to a 3-0 lead by half-time and surged further ahead in the second half as they recorded the biggest win of the day, 7-0. Wojtek Banas was the main beneficiary as he scored 4 to put him on top of the goalscoring charts. There were also goals for Ernest Spolnik (2) and Szymou Zelasko. Azmot were the first team to guarantee Cup qualification and needed just a point to confirm them as the league winners with two games to go.

The last game of Round 5 would see Sherwood Forest take on a resurgent FCB Helles. Sherwood Forest were currently sitting in 3rd place and another win would see them move into 2nd place. They would have a tough task against FCB Helles who were looking to make it a hat-trick of victories.

Richard Norbury gave Sherwood Forest the lead with a header and as the half-time whistle blew all was going well for them. FCB Helles would not be rolled over though and their current run of good form helped them back into this game. They got their reward with Martin Hunt's second strike of the tournament to put them level at 1-1. This was how the game finished and Sherwood Forest had earned a second successive 1-1 draw and whilst the points were valuable the draws were just stalling their progress as they dropped to 4th in the table. The same was true for FCB Helles as wins for their counterparts FCB Dunkles and Hutnik meant they slipped to 6th .

Both teams were very much in contention though as just two points separated the teams in 2nd and 6th position. All to play for as we moved onto Round 6.
