With just two points separating Hutnik in 5th and FCB Dunkles in 3rd a win for the home side would see them leapfrog their opponents and move into their highest position of the day. Hutnik were now unbeaten in 3 games and one of the form teams in the group. FCB Dunkles had just found the winning way again in their last game so this looked a tasty encounter. We were not disappointed.

The game started in a lively fashion and it was The Pelican who started the scoring to put FCB Dunkles ahead. A win for FCB Dunkles would confirm their Cup qualification so this was an extremely valuable goal. Hutnik could ill afford defeat and they hit back before half-time with Andrej Gorski's second of the tournament. The half-time whistle went and it was all square.

The second half was equally as compelling but lacked the goals the team's needed to earn victory. Both came close though as Charlie Jewkes hit the post for FCB Dunkles and in the very last minute Hutnik went close to taking all 3 points. In the end though the teams had to settle for a point each and edge closer to qualification. Both teams still had work to do in game 7.

Spasowskiego were already condemned to the Plate but Over Crusaders still had an outside chance of progressing if they won their last two games. It was do or die for the English team and they did not disappoint as they hit sorry Spasowskiego for six with three goals in each half. Pete Rushmer scored the second hat-trick of the tournament to improve his personal tally after Andrew Parker had scored the opening two goals of the game. There was also a goal for Rob Martin to complete the scoring.

Over Crusaders hopes were still alive as they sat just 3 points off qualification but not only did they need to win their last game but they needed results for 3 other teams to go their way – still a tough ask but by no means impossible.

There were many games that were contenders for goal of the tournament in the 2010 Krakow Cup…and the game between FCB Helles and Over Crusaders II was certainly one of them! Over Crusaders II went into the game in 2nd place knowing that a win would assure them of qualification for the Cup and all was going to plan thanks to Liam White's first half goal.

All was going to plan until a crazy last couple of minutes that saw this game turn on it's head. It began when Ben Littlefield took a pot-shot from distance and with Steve Keerie's view obstructed in the Over Crusaders II goal a late reaction meant the shot crept inside the far post and FCB Dunkles were level at 1-1. The draw would see FCB Helles move onto 8 points and sit just outside the Cup qualification places. However, we were not done there. In the final minute Ed Hamand made a run down the right wing and hit a cross-come-shot from the byline across goal and the unfortunate Liam White could not help but turn the ball into his own net a matter of inches from the goal-line. The FC Biermeisters understandably went crackers.

It was a dramatic end to the game and cruel on Over Crusaders II who with two minutes to go were cruising into the Cup but now they sat in 4th with a game against league leaders Azmot to come. FCB Helles were in 2nd with their fate very much in their own hands.

Sherwood Forest had the unenviable task of facing Azmot in their next game. They sat in 4th place and really needed to get a result in this game against the Polish team with a 100% record still in tact. They applied themselves admirably to their task and although they found themselves 2-0 down at half-time they were in no way over-awed or outplayed by their opponents. Sherwood Forest carved out chances at both 0-0 and 1-0 down and the half-time scoreline could have looked very different. As it was though, two more goals for Wojtek Banas put Azmot in the ascendancy.

In the second half Sherwood Forest continued their good performance and whilst Azmot repelled most attacks they could not prevent Ian Beerman pulling one back in the final minute. It gave Sherwood Forest hope of a third successive draw but time was against them as they lost 2-1. They slipped out of the top four for the first time today and at just the wrong time though. They still had a game to rescue the situation though as their opponents Azmot secured the Group title with a game to spare.
