S
& OP FC would only have to glance over to
Pitch B to see JNJ Poland in action against
JNJ Zug to see what was happening. S & OP
FC now needed JNJ Poland to lose to make the
Plate which, obviously, meant JNJ Poland had
to win their final group fixture to qualify
for the Plate and avoid elimination. It would
be a tough task against JNJ Zug who currently
sat second in the table and needed a result
themselves. JNJ Zug's fate was very much in
their own hands – a win or draw would see them
qualify for the Cup. A defeat would leave them
vulnerable to the advances of JNJ Russia B.
JNJ
Zug got off to the perfect start as Marco Mader's
fourth goal of the tournament put them ahead.
It got even better for them (and S &OP FC)
in the second period as Sisu Kurtaran (second
of the tournament) and Georg Poletikin (fifth
of the tournament) put them 3-0 up. They were
charging towards the Cup Semi-Finals. Tomasz
Gawluk's fifth of the tournament reduced the
deficit to 3-1 but it was too little too late
for the Polish team.
JNJ
Zug had secured Cup competition and JNJ Poland
had missed out on Plate qualification. Despite
this, we thought it was a good debut for JNJ
Poland and results didn't always match their
performances.
