Gerri
Hatricks were next in action on pitch B as they
took on JNJ Poland. The two teams were languishing
at the foot of the table and were desperate
for a victory to kickstart their respective
campaigns. JNJ Poland can consider themselves
a little unlucky to only have one point from
their two games after good performances against
JNJ Russia B (narrow 3-2 defeat) and a good
draw against JNJ High Wycombe A (1-1).
Just
as they had done against JNJ High Wycombe A,
JNJ Poland hit the front in this fixture as
Dawid Paszek put them ahead. Could they hold
on this time?
They
could actually do better as Marcin Zaciek extended
the lead to 2-0 in the second half. Could Gerri
Hatricks force a way back into the game? They
played well but the goals proved elusive and
the game finished 2-0.
It
was a vital win for JNJ Poland who had given
themselves a platform on 4 points with 2 games
to go. If they could kick-on then Cup/Plate
qualification was still on. Gerri Hatricks had
some work to do but Plate qualification was
still an option – they'd need to win both their
remaining games to have a chance.
