Game 7 of Group B was an important fixture for S & OP FC and JNJ Russia B. Both teams had one win and one defeat so far. They occupied third and fourth position in the table so the result of this game would help decide if they would push on towards the top of Group B or remain mid-table. This game could go a long way to determining whether the teams had Cup or Plate aspirations.

S & OP FC came into the game on the back of a win, JNJ Russia B on the back of defeat and the team's relative momentum seemed to have a bearing on proceedings in the opening half. Ryan Longbottom scored his first of the day for S & OP FC and gave his team a 1-0 lead at half-time.

This game was to be the proverbial game of two halves as in the second period JNJ Russia B emerged all guns blazing. Their chief weapon was Gaspar Arutyunov. With 5 goals in 2 games already he had certainly brought his shooting boots from Moscow. He equalized for 1-1 before putting his team 2-1 up. He completed a hat-trick to make it 3-1 and the game was all but over. There was still time for Alexander Betin to score his first of the day and seal a 4-1 win.

Gaspar Arutyunov had now scored two hat-tricks in three games and with a return of 8 goals already was the man to beat for today's Top Goalscorer prize.

Gerri Hatricks were next in action on pitch B as they took on JNJ Poland. The two teams were languishing at the foot of the table and were desperate for a victory to kickstart their respective campaigns. JNJ Poland can consider themselves a little unlucky to only have one point from their two games after good performances against JNJ Russia B (narrow 3-2 defeat) and a good draw against JNJ High Wycombe A (1-1).

Just as they had done against JNJ High Wycombe A, JNJ Poland hit the front in this fixture as Dawid Paszek put them ahead. Could they hold on this time?

They could actually do better as Marcin Zaciek extended the lead to 2-0 in the second half. Could Gerri Hatricks force a way back into the game? They played well but the goals proved elusive and the game finished 2-0.

It was a vital win for JNJ Poland who had given themselves a platform on 4 points with 2 games to go. If they could kick-on then Cup/Plate qualification was still on. Gerri Hatricks had some work to do but Plate qualification was still an option – they'd need to win both their remaining games to have a chance.

To complete Round 3 and take us into the lunch break we had JNJ Zug versus JNJ High Wycombe A to look forward to. At the end of Round 2 these teams sat in 1st and 2nd position with JNJ Zug holding a two point lead over their opponents. In Group A we had a similar position when Tekkers Lovakia (4 points) met JNJ Serbia (6 points) with the team in second claiming the victory to rise above their opposition.

The same would happen here in Group B and JNJ High Wycombe A achieved that in emphatic style. Having stumbled a little (by their own high standards) versus JNJ Poland they raced into a 3-0 first half lead against the Swiss with Rob Buckland and Alex Parkinson (2) putting the English team in command.

In the second period, JNJ High Wycombe A showed no mercy as Nicki Mills made it 4-0 and then Alex Parkinson completed his hat-trick. It was a sensational result as the team at the top had been defeated 5-0. JNJ Zug had been dethroned at the summit of Group B and JNJ High Wycombe A had replaced them.

JNJ Zug would need to shake off this result and put it behind them. They were still in joint second position so if they could regroup over the lunch period and regain their early morning form then Cup qualification was still very much in their reach.
