The first game of Round 2 saw Gerri Hatricks take on S & OP FC. Both teams had tasted defeat in the opening round of fixtures and both teams would be looking to bounce back and register their first points of the day. On a point of geography, this was a derby between two teams from Leeds doing battle on the lush green football fields of Bratislava.

In a close contest it was S & OP FC who made the early breakthrough as George Lazaro put his side 1-0 up. It was to be the only goal in the opening period as there was little to choose between the two teams.

We often mention that the second goal in these tight games is so crucial. An equalizing goal means game on but so often a 2-0 lead can mean game over. So, who would claim the second goal in this contest? Step forward Thomas Lloyd of S & OP FC. His strike made it 2-0 to S & OP FC and he claimed all three points for his team.

S & OP FC were up and running in this tournament. For Gerri Hatricks there were still three group games to turn their fortunes around.

Next up was JNJ Russia B against JNJ Zug. Both teams had looked in fine form in their opening games as they produced victories. A second victory here would put the victors in control of Group B.

JNJ Zug began the Prague 2012 tournament with two successive victories and when Georg Poletikin put them 1-0 up they were looking on course to emulate that feat. Gaspar Arutyunov, with a hat-trick in Round 1, added to his tally to equalize for JNJ Russia B and it was 1-1 at half-time.

In the second half JNJ Zug forged ahead again as Sisu Kurtaran made it 2-1. Just as he had done in the first period, Gaspar Arutyunov equalized for JNJ Russia B to make it 2-2. You could forgive JNJ Zug for being deflated after being pegged back twice but they took the lead for a third time when Georg Poletikin scored his second of the day and fourth of the tournament to give the Swiss team a 3-2 lead.

So, would Gaspar Arutyunov equalize for a third time and in the process score his second hat-trick in as many games? Not this time. The next goal was scored by Marco Mader to open up a two goal cushion at 4-2 for JNJ Zug and secure victory for his team.

It was a great game and JNJ Zug were sitting proudly on top of Group B.

JNJ Poland and JNJ High Wycombe A met in the final game of Round 2. JNJ Poland had slipped to a narrow opening game defeat and in their search for a first win of the day they were dealt a tough fixture in this game. JNJ High Wycombe A had only lost once in 11 previous group games to put JNJ Poland's task in context.

It was a good start for JNJ Poland though as they made the early breakthrough with a Tomas Gawlak goal – his third of the tournament. It was a 1-0 lead JNJ Poland were to take into half-time and for much of the second half.

JNJ High Wycombe A, who had started off with a 4-1 victory in Round 1, were a determined team and battled hard to get back into this game. They did get back into the game with an equalizing goal and when they did it was a huge call from the referee and a potentially controversial moment. Nicki Mills hit a shot from distance which hit the inside of the post/bar to the goalkeeper's right, ricocheted on to the other post and out – the goal was given. There were some mild protests from the JNJ Poland players but we believe it was probably the correct decision. Without the benefit of TV replays and goal-line technology, from our vantage point which was almost level with the goal-line we think the ball had probably crossed the line.

The goal was to earn JNJ High Wycombe A a point. It was tough on JNJ Poland but it was a good result against the two-times Cup Finalists.
