Group B began with Misfits FC taking on Redhill Rovers. Both teams were making their European debuts so it would be interesting to see how they each fared. The first half proved to be a stalemate with teams working their way into the tournament by neither team being able to forge a successful way to goal.

At 0-0, it was all to play for in the second half. Redhill Rovers' Sam Chapman broke the deadlock in the second half. Could Misfits comeback? If they were there task would be doubly difficult once James Harcourt made it 2-0 to Redhill Rovers. Things would get triply difficult when Harcourt scored again to make it 3-0. In the end it was a fine debut for Redhill Rovers who had a played 1, won 1 record in Europe – not a bad start at all.

Misfits FC should not be disheartened as they still had 3 more games to get their European challenge on track.

The second game in Group B also saw a 3-0 scoreline as RS Ocean Village FC claimed 3 points without breaking sweat against Mar Olhao FC. This is because the local Portuguese team arrived late to the tournament. They were penalized by forfeiting their first game. It was a shame as RS Ocean Village would have to wait a little longer to get their first taste of Algarve action.

Dynamo Fucdarest made their debut in the 2010 Prague Masters and drew a tough group which featured 3 strong Czech teams – Kehar Club (2007 Prague Masters winners), Deportivo (who later won the 2010 Prague Trophy) and DHL Prague Red who have 5 Plate Finals to their name. They lost in the Plate Quarter-Finals narrowly on penalties to another Czech team - JNJ Global Services (who later won the 2010 Prague Trophy Plate). Luckily for Dynamo Fucdarest there are no Czech teams in Portugal this year! They would begin their 2011 Algarve Open campaign against Misfits FC.

Misfits FC were playing their second game and looking to bounce back from opening game defeat. In the first half they were given a helping hand when a goalmouth scramble led to the unfortunate Raj Dhaliwal putting past his own goalkeeper and Misfits FC led 1-0 at the break.

They say lightning doesn't strike twice – well, sadly for Dynamo Fucdarest it did as Misfits FC pressure led to another own goal. This time it was goalkeeper Jagbir Birring who was the unlucky own-goalscorer and it was 2-0 to Misfits FC. Thomas Carroll then put the icing on the cake for Misfits when he made it 3-0 and they claimed their first victory in the tournament. Things could only get better for Dynamo Fucdarest from here.

Game 4 was the scheduled meeting of Redhill Rovers versus Portugal's Mar Olhao. The Portuguese team had now arrived and would start their campaign with the handicap of a defeat. Redhill Rovers were aiming to claim their second successive victory and put themselves on top of Group B.

The game started well for the English side as Reece Thomas opened his personal goalscoring account to give his side a 1-0 lead at half-time. Mar Olhao were an improved team in the second half though and in a feisty encounter they fought back and equalized through Juan Sousa. There was time for a winner and the winning 3rd goal also went to Mar Olhao as Cristiano Santos fired the Portuguese into a 2-1 lead and ultimately a 2-1 victory.

The win for Mar Olhao meant that four of the five teams in Group B were on 3 points – it couldn't get much closer!

The game that would take us to the half-way stage of Group B was RS Ocean Village FC versus Dynamo Fucdarest. The game was an opportunity for RS Ocean Village to go top by avoiding defeat and for Dynamo Fucdarest to kickstart their campaign after a slow start in their opening fixture.

The teams proved evenly matched and with the group being so close a win would mean a very valuable 3 points. If Dynamo could grab it, all 5 teams would be on 3 points – something that has never happened in eurofootballfives.com history before.

It was a game where defences were on top and when the strikers of either side could not beat the two goalkeepers of Jagbir Birring and Yann Harding. Dynamo Fucdarest had also stopped the own goals so it was a clean sheet for both defences as the teams shared the points. Final score, 0-0.
