Portugal
met England in the first game of Group C. Moss
Deb FC and Feltham Garrison FC were both making
their eurofootballfives.com debuts and both teams
proved to be closely matched. In fact there would
be only one goal to separate the two teams. The
goal came in the first half and was scored by
Moss Deb FC's Eddy Catanino to secure all three
points.
Hebden
Bridge and Montenegro FC were also making their
debuts and it was a good game to play in if you
were wearing the number 6 shirt. The number 6
for Montenegro FC, Joao Paulo David Martins scored
for the Portuguese team. However, Hebden Bridge
's number 6, Adam Gobbett, scored twice to see
them make the perfect start.
The
final team to get underway in Group C were Jim
Belch FC. They were playing Feltham Garrison FC
who were looking to bounce back from their opening
match deficit. Jim Belch FC fought hard and the
honours were even with both teams able to register
their first points in the league. Al Dickenson
scored the goal for Jim Belch FC and Rich East
was the goalscorer for Feltham Garrison.
The
next game up was the battle of the two opening
game victors as Hebden Bridge met Moss Deb FC.
Both teams had won by the odd goal in their opening
encounters and the odd goal was to prove decisive
in this game too. Phil Speak kept a clean sheet
in the Hebden Bridge goal whilst Neil Coneron
came up with the decisive strike to see veteran
side go top of the table on their own with 6 points.
Montenegro
FC versus Jim Belch saw all the scoring in the
first half. Montenegro FC got into their stride
the quicker with Rodrigo Jose Godinho Vitorino
claiming the opening goal. Luis Filipe Madeira
Dos Reis added a second before half time which
proved enough to secure the points. A goal less
second half meant the 2-0 victory was enough to
put Montenegro FC 2 nd in what was proving to
be a very tight group. |
