Mallorca
kicked off our 2023 season with 30 teams assembled
across the Open Age and Veterans sections. History
was made as Ecuador 100% became the first team
in our 17 year history to win 3 consecutive editions
of the same tournament. They added the 2023 crown
to the titles they won in 2019 and 2022.
In
the Cup Final they defeated Polonia Limerick of
Poland (4-0) despite losing 1-0 to the Polish
guys in the group phase.
In
the Plate section it was France versus Spain as
World Pinteur took on Urbansport.Following a 1-1
draw it was the French team who emerged victorious
on penalties.

Our
summer Veterans Tournament marked its 10th season
in 2023 as we returned to Mallorca by popular
demand.
Defending champions were FC Mahou who claimed
the title in Lisbon last year and were looking
for their third Veterans title and fifth title
in total with us. It was a particularly strong
line-up with teams from England, France, Hungary,
Moldova, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Wales and a
CIS team. We had four different nationalties in
the Semi-Finals and after the final shake-up it
was Spain's Duktil Balear who claimed the trophy
with a 2-0 win over FC Poloboc in the final.
In
the Plate Final there was Polish success for Polonia
Limerick. They defeated ACE & The Swagmen
in the Plate Final. A second runners-up finish
in as many years for the English team.

Teams
from Brazil, England, Ireland, the Netherlands,
Portugal and Switzerland assembled to do battle
for the honour of holding aloft the 2023 Lisbon
Tournament trophy.
After
8 games each, Pangere of Brazil and Lindfield
of England played out a 1-1 draw in the Cup Final.
The title would be decided by a penalty shoot-out
and it was the Brazilians who won it to reclaim
the title they also won in 2017. It was a second
runners-up spot in a row for Lindfield FC who
collected silver medals in Mallorca last year.
Third time lucky next year?
In
the Plate competition it was Dolce & Lallana
who claimed victory (2-1) against Bugiels Athletic
including Thomas Forster's 9th goal of the tournament
that saw him win the top goalscorer award to add
to the golden boot he won in Amsterdam last year.

The
Amsterdam Fives celebrated it's 15th year in 2023
and we were back in the Dutch capital for our
double-header with the Amsterdam Sevens.
Teams
from England, France, the Netherlands and Sweden
were in attendance to stake their claim for the
famous golden trophy.
France's
Foot130 and Shab-Tilburg of the Netherlands were
the stand-out teams in the group phase winning
Groups A and B. Shab-Tilburg fell to their compatriots
The Zlatan Show on pens in the Semi-Final but
Foot130 were sensational defeating another French
team, Les Collegues, 6-3 in the Semis before despatching
The Zlatan Show 5-2 in the Cup Final.
W
London made a slow start with 2 draws and 2 defeats
before blitzing the final stages to win the Plate.
A 3-2 win in their final group game saw them qualify
for the Plate. They then defeated Ball Sports
Reds 7-2 and Sweden's BK Manskomplex 7-1 in the
Plate Final.

The
Amsterdam Sevens debuted in 2022 with great success
and 2023 continued that with another sell-out
event. Last year's winners, Humble Goats, were
back to defend their title and they did so expertly.
They
won Group B with a 100% record, 10 goals scored
and 0 conceded. They met the Amsterdam Fives winners,
Foot 130, in the Semi-Finals and won a close contest
2-1. Denmark's Uden Filter were up next in the
Cup Final and the teams played out a tense 0-0
thriller. Humble Goats won last year's title on
penalties and they did so again winning the shoot-out
2-1.
In
the Plate competition there was English success
as Dynamo Leila defeated FNF on Tour 3-2 in the
final.
We
look forward to 2024 and can Humble Goats complete
a hat-trick of victories?

On
the 15th July 2017 eurofootballfives.com
took a break from tradition and added our first
sixes
tournament to the calendar. 2023 was the fifth
edition of the tournament and so far we'd had
winners from the Netherlands, Belarus and England
(twice).
This
year we had England, Luxembourg, the Netherlands
and Wales competing. Since our inception in 2006
we had never had a Cup winner from Wales but we
were so close in Amsterdam this year. The Shepherd's
Arms went unbeaten through the group phase with
3 wins and 2 draws before a statement win against
2-times Amsterdam Sevens winners' Humble Goats.
The win set-up a Cup Final against Dutch side
Summerhouse. There was nothing to split the teams
in normal time as the match ended 0-0. Penalties
would decide the victors and sadly for The Shepherd's
Arms it was Summerhouse who had nerves of steel
to win 2-0.

The
eurofootballfives.com tour rolled into Krakow
with teams from England, Finland, Poland and Portugal
competing for the title. The Polish contingent
also saw teams travel down from Warsaw to participate.
After
36 games of action it was Colonel Getafe who claimed
the coveted trophy. They were top scorers and
had the best goal difference on the day but were
run close by Turn Down For Watford in the Cup
Final as the match finished 2-2 in normal time.
It went to penalties and Colonel Getafe completed
the job, 2-1.
In
the Plate competition there was success for Big
Time Krakow (who had 2 previous Cup wins to their
name). They had lost 2-1 to Mngball FC in the
group phase but got their revenge with a 2-0 Plate
Final victory.
Oli
Grossman was top scorer on the day with 9 goals.

Back
to back wins for Norfolk N Chance in Barcelona!
On a glorious summer's day we had 52 games of
football to enjoy and when the referee blew
the final whistle in the Cup Final it was Norfolk
N Chance who emerged victorious. A game that
swung from end to end saw Norfolk N Chance come
from behind to take glory against Sharks. Sharks
were runners-up here in 2021 and had to settle
for second place medals again in 2023.
In the Plate competition it was Mitre FC A who
emerged victorious. It was a fantastic debut
for them as they defeated John Arne Riise's
Pieces. Mitre FC defeated their opponents 3-0
in the group phase and repeated the dose in
the final to fully deserve their crown.
For the individual honours, Joe Sames won the
top scorer prize just as he did 12 months ago.

With
teams representing China, England, Hungary, Moldova
and Poland assembled in Barcelona we had 4 nations
in with a chance of success when we reached the
Cup Semi-Finals. The final saw Moldova versus
Poland as FC Poloboc met AFC Blue Boys in what
was a repeat of the 2023 Mallorca Veterans Cup
Semi-Final. Moldova won that battle 2-1 and they
won this battle 3-0 to take home the golden trophy
and winners' medals.
In the Plate competition it was JK Silvertown
who emerged victorious as they defeated Lucanos
Locos 1-0 in the final that meant it was Poland
who finished runners-up in both the Cup and the
Plate. JK Silvertown had previously played in
three of our Amsterdam events with the switch
to Barcelona in 2023 proving hugely successful.
For the individual honours, Chris Wright won the
top scorer prize with 11 goals. It was his second
golden boot after winning the same prize at the
2018 Amsterdam Fives.
