Each team had now played a game each to acclimatize the tournament. We continued at the start of Round 2 with an all-Poland contest with Boca Seniors Warsaw versus Alea Iacta Est. It was also the top two at the end of Round 1.

Alea Iacta Est most recently travelled to our Gdansk Tournament in 2019. They began well with 2 wins (3-0, 8-0) but then suffered a wobble when they lost two in a row (1-2, 2-3). They regained their form and composure to complete the group phase with two more victories (5-0, 5-1). The results meant they climbed to 2nd in the table and qualify for the Cup competition. They met Fabryka Zielini (defending champions) but could not get their revenge as they missed out on the Cup Final, 2-1.

Boca Seniors Warsaw had made a winning debut in the previous round but this game proved much more difficult for them. They found themselves 3-0 down by half-time. It was Michal Dlugopolski who set Alea Iacta Est on their way with an opening brace. Piotr Plichta added a third.

3-0 became 4-0 in the second half as Piotr Plichta doubled his tally. Marvellous Nice reduced the deficit to 4-1 but it was only a temporary respite as Jakub Szlezingier completed the 5-1 win.

Yac Club and FC Dad took to the field as we brought Round 2 to a close. These two teams paths had almost crossed before as they both competed at the 2016 Riga Tournament. In that tournament Yac Club finished 4th in their group and reached the Plate Quarter-Finals, FC Dad finished 2 nd in their group and reached the Cup Semi-Finals. Yac Club actually met FC Dad's stable mates FC Maroon in the opening game of Group B. Yac Club won that fixture 1-0 courtesy of a Nick Pocock goal.

Bear that 1-0 scoreline in mind as Yac Club had opened up today with a sensational win (1-0) from their first game against The A Team and were now looking to kick on. FC Dad were hoping to put Round 1's defeat (1-0) behind them and put a win on the board.

This was a keenly fought contest and we looked like we were going into the break at 0-0 until Yac Club won a penalty in the dying moments of the first half. Goalkeeper Calum Jones conceded the spot kick but he made amends by saving it to keep FC Dad on level terms.

In the second half Dave Netherway ensured Yac Club would not rue that missed penalty as he scored his second of the tournament to put his team ahead. There was another clean sheet for Mitch Taht and so we reached full time at, you guessed it, 1-0. Yac Club marched on and were now joint top of the table.
