Group
B got underway with two tournament debutants as
Turkey's Fenerbahce SK faced England's Judas FC
in what promised to be an intriguing opening encounter.
With neither side having any previous eurofootballfives.com
history, this was an opportunity to make an immediate
statement and lay down an early marker in what
looked to be another fiercely competitive group.
Both teams showed plenty of enthusiasm from the
opening whistle as they settled quickly into tournament
football.
It
was the Turkish side who made the brighter start
and edged themselves in front before the interval.
Farkan Usta wrote his name into the history books
by scoring Fenerbahce SK's first-ever eurofootballfives.com
goal, giving his side a valuable 1-0 advantage.
Judas FC remained well in the contest, but Fenerbahce
defended their lead well during the opening period
and carried that narrow advantage into half-time.
The
second half told a different story as Judas FC
emerged with renewed belief and intensity. Fraser
Burns proved to be the catalyst for the comeback,
first bringing the English side level with a composed
finish before continuing to drive his team forward
in search of a winner. Rather than settling for
a point, Judas FC sensed the momentum had shifted,
and Burns struck again to complete both his brace
and a superb turnaround. His two second-half goals
sealed an impressive 2-1 victory after the English
side had trailed at the break.
It
was the perfect way for Judas FC to begin life
in our tournaments, collecting three valuable
points and demonstrating resilience by recovering
from a losing position. Fenerbahce SK could take
encouragement from a strong first-half display
but they were left to reflect on a second half
in which the momentum slipped away.

The
second match in Group B brought together tournament
debutants Zon70 of the Netherlands and the experienced
Mngball FC of England. While Zon70 were making
their first appearance in eurofootballfives.com
competition, Mngball FC were familiar faces, having
represented themselves with distinction at previous
tournaments in Kraków, Amsterdam and Lisbon.
Both sides would have been eager to make a positive
start to their campaigns.
The
opening half was a relatively cagey affair, with
neither team willing to give away an early advantage.
Defences remained firmly on top as both sides
worked tirelessly to close down space and frustrate
attacking moves. Chances were at a premium throughout
the first period, and with neither goalkeeper
beaten, it came as little surprise when the teams
headed into the interval locked together at 0-0.
The
game sparked into life after the break. Zon70
made the breakthrough thanks to Bastiaan Baas,
whose composed finish earned the Dutch side their
first goal of the campaign and looked set to deliver
a dream debut victory. Mngball FC, however, showed
the resilience that we've come to expect. Refusing
to let their heads drop, they continued to press
forward and eventually found their reward when
Ben Williamson struck the equaliser, ensuring
the points would be shared in an entertaining
second half.
A
1-1 draw was arguably a fair reflection of an
evenly contested encounter. Zon70 could take plenty
of encouragement from a solid first performance
and from getting their first tournament goal on
the scoresheet, while Mngball FC demonstrated
once again that they are rarely easy to beat.
With one point apiece, both teams had made a solid
start, knowing that there was still everything
to play for in the remaining Group B fixtures.

The
third match in Group B introduced another new
face to the competition as Nuremberga Warriors
(Por) stepped onto the pitch for the first time,
taking on a Fenerbahce SK side eager to bounce
back after their narrow opening defeat to Judas
FC. The Turkish outfit had shown plenty of promise
despite that loss, while the Warriors were looking
to make an immediate impact on their tournament
debut. With both teams determined not to give
anything away cheaply, it quickly became clear
that this would be another fiercely contested
encounter in what was proving to be an exceptionally
competitive group.
The
opening period reflected that balance perfectly.
Chances were at a premium as both defences stayed
disciplined and organised, refusing to allow their
opponents any clear opportunities. Every tackle,
interception and challenge carried extra importance,
with neither side willing to take unnecessary
risks – but equally, both teams were willing to
attack. As a result, the teams went into the interval
deadlocked at 0-0, with the outcome still impossible
to predict.
The
deadlock was finally broken during the second
half, and it was a familiar face who delivered
the decisive moment. Farkan Usta, already on the
scoresheet in Fenerbahce SK's opening fixture,
once again proved to be his side's match-winner.
His well-taken strike finally pierced the stubborn
Nuremberga Warriors defence and handed the Turkish
side a priceless 1-0 advantage. The Warriors pushed
hard in search of an equaliser during the closing
stages, but Fenerbahce defended resolutely to
preserve their slender lead and secure all three
points.
The
victory gave Fenerbahce SK a first win of the
tournament and lifted them right back into contention
in a tightly packed Group B after recovering from
their opening match disappointment. For Nuremberga
Warriors, there was naturally frustration at beginning
their campaign with defeat, but there were also
plenty of positives to take. They matched their
opponent for long periods and were undone only
by a single moment. With several group games still
to come, their hopes of reaching the knockout
stages remained firmly in their own hands.

Two
unbeaten sides met in the fourth match of Group
B with plenty at stake. Judas FC had shown tremendous
character to come from behind and defeat Fenerbahçe
SK 2-1 in their opening fixture, while Zon70 had
battled to a hard-earned 1-1 draw against Mngball
FC. With both teams looking to strengthen their
early claims for a place in the Cup, this promised
to be an intriguing encounter. It turned into
a statement performance from the English outfit.
Judas
FC wasted little time imposing themselves on the
contest. Their movement, pressing and attacking
intent caused problems throughout the opening
period, and the outstanding figure was Shameek
Farrell. The forward produced a devastating display
of finishing, striking three times before the
interval to complete a superb first-half hat-trick.
His clinical edge gave Judas FC complete control
and sent them into the break with an emphatic
3-0 advantage, leaving Zon70 with a huge mountain
to climb.
Any
hopes of a Dutch comeback were quickly extinguished
after the restart. Farrell was simply unstoppable,
adding his fourth goal of the match to cap a remarkable
individual display. While his finishing understandably
grabbed the headlines, the victory was built on
an excellent all-round team performance, with
Judas FC remaining organised defensively while
continuing to threaten whenever they went forward.
Zon70 continued to battle until the final whistle,
but they were unable to find a way through as
Judas FC completed an impressive 4-0 victory.
The
result maintained Judas FC's perfect start to
Group B, making it two wins from two and six points
from a possible six as they established themselves
as early contenders for top spot and Cup qualification.
For Zon70, it was a disappointing result after
such an encouraging opening draw, but with plenty
of football still to play, there remained every
opportunity for the Dutch side to bounce back
and reignite their own challenge.

With
the group approaching the halfway stage, this
was an important fixture for both teams. Mngball
FC had battled back to earn a 1-1 draw in their
opening match and were looking to build on that
encouraging start. Nuremberga Warriors, meanwhile,
had been narrowly beaten 1-0 by Fenerbahce SK
despite a spirited display, and were determined
to ensure another strong performance would finally
be rewarded with points.
The
opening exchanges were evenly contested, but once
Nuremberga Warriors found the breakthrough, they
never looked back. Marcos Tulio etched his name
into the history books by scoring the Portuguese
side's first-ever goal in eurofootballfives.com
competition, giving his team the early advantage.
Confidence flowed through the Warriors after that
moment, and Gabriel Obada quickly doubled the
lead before Vinicius Damaziu added a third to
complete a devastating spell. By half-time, the
Warriors held a commanding 3-0 advantage and were
firmly in control.
Mngball
FC had already shown in their opening fixture
that they possessed plenty of character, and they
emerged for the second half determined to mount
another comeback. Joe Olding gave the English
side hope by reducing the deficit to 3-1, but
unlike their first outing, the mountain proved
just too steep to climb. Nuremberga Warriors defended
with discipline, limited further opportunities,
and saw out the closing stages without further
concession to secure a memorable first victory
of the tournament.
The
3-1 success was a huge boost for Nuremberga Warriors,
lifting them onto three points and firmly back
into the race for Cup qualification from what
was proving to be another tightly contested group.
For Mngball FC, it was a disappointing first defeat
after their opening draw, but with two group matches
still to play, their destiny remained very much
in their own hands as they looked to keep their
tournament ambitions alive.
