Barrymoore's
Swimming Club and Mitre FC B would come into
their fourth fixtures licking their wounds a
little bit as they had both tasted defeat last
time out. However, both teams still had a share
of second position in the group table. With
Club Esportiu Llefia now out in front on 12
points it increasingly looked like 1 team from
3 fighting for the second Cup qualification
spot.
The
teams in Group B had been dealing in binary
over the last few games but we were to get more
than the solitary goal in this tie. It was Mitre
FC B who drew first blood through Rishi-Ryan
Patel as they looked to get back to winning
ways. Having gone 9 group games unbeaten in
our events, it would be unthinkable that Barrymoore's
Swimming Club would lose 2 on the trot and they
did their best to avoid this when Jason James
levelled the scores at 1-1.
Whilst
clearly better than a defeat, a draw would not
help either team too much in the context of
the group table. It would open up both teams
to fall behind Bjorn Helge Ri'se's Pieces if
they won their game in hand. A winner would
be a massive boost for either of these teams
and we were to get a third and winning goal.
Ryan Reed had scored twice before today and
he was on target for a third time as his strike
sealed all three points for Barrymoore's Swimming
Club. A vital win for them.
