Group B kicked off on Pitch B where Old Boys Blue Magic Dublin (Pol) were to make their debut in our tournaments and we wished them a very warm welcome. They were up against Club Esportiu Llefia (Spa) who made a stunning debut here in 2015. They emerged from Group B as winners with 2 wins and 2 draws. They then embarked on a winning run to glory with a 3-2 Quarter-Final win over Walthamstow Warriors. A 4-0 Semi-Final win over North London in the Semi-Finals meant they would meet the Alabama Hotpockets in the Cup Final. It was a sensational performance in the Final that saw them run out 5-0 winners with a particularly strong second half. They also boasted the tournament's top goalscorer as Alfred Jimenez De Andres scored 9 in 7 games.

It was an especially tough start for Old Boys Blue Magic Dublin but they got off to a flyer when Michal Cedrowski put the travelling team ahead. CE Llefia hit back though as Carlos Perez Tornay equalized for 1-1. The Spanish and Tornay in particular took charge of the game as he went on to complete a hat-trick. It was 3-1 to CE Llefia at half-time.

In the second period CE Llefia extended their lead. Francisco Lorenzo Gonzalez and Sergi Garcia Arguile both found the back of the net as the Spanish team ran out 5-1 victors.

In Game 2 we had Son Les Onze versus FC Dad.

Son Les Onze were on debut and as such were an unknown quantity and therefore had a blank canvas upon which to paint their footballing artistry. FC Dad in contrast were our most experienced team in the tournament with 11 caps in total and 3 here in Barcelona alone.

At the 2015 Barcelona Fives FC Dad started off with a resounding 4-1 win over ABCDE FC before 2 defeats to Spanish and Irish opposition. They completed their group with a 1-1 draw that saw them finish as one of four teams separated by just 1 point from 2nd to 5th. They ultimately finished 4th and went through to the Trophy where they went out to FC Seagrave, 2-0.

The 2019 Barcelona Fives saw them start with a 4-0 defeat to KLM but returned with a good 1-0 victory over Paralytic Athletic. A narrow 1-0 defeat followed against the 2015 champions which preceded another couple of defeats to Ospinas Coladas and a strong FC Miracle team from Hungary. FC Dad qualified for the Trophy and they returned to winning ways with a 3-1 win over home team Footballab. Another 3-1 win in the Semi-Final (v Cranwell) set up a final against PVDC Eindhoven. It was to be runners-up medals though for FC Dad as they lost the Trophy Final, 1-0.

It was our debutants that opened the score here with Roger Domenech being the first Son Les Onze man to score in eurofootballfives competition. FC Dad responded swiftly though as Chris Breen first equalised and then put the English team ahead. FC Dad started the second half 2-1 up but would finish it 3-1 to the good as Luke Burnett's goal sealed the win.

The last team to get their campaign underway was Sharks as they took on Old Boys Blue Magic Dublin.

Sharks were the third team in Group B to be making their debut and they would be the third debutant team to open the scoring in their first match. Tom Frumerman was the man with the goal. Sharks doubled their lead as Tom Frumerman doubled his goal tally to put Sharks 2-0 up. It was a lead that Sharks would maintain until half-time.

Old Boys Blue Magic Dublin had endured a tough start to the tournament. A 5-1 defeat to the 2015 champions and now looking at a second defeat here. This game proved to be the proverbial game of two halves. Michal Cedrowski scored in the previous match and he was on target again here to reduce the Sharks lead to 2-1. Cedrowski kept up his fine goal-scoring form as he was on target again to level the score at 2-2.

It was a great recovery for Old Boys Blue Magic Dublin who registered their first point of the day. It was also a solid start for Sharks although having been 2-0 up we are sure they would have been disappointed not to take all 3 points.

CE Llefia were next in action on Pitch B as they entertained Son Les Onze.

Club Esportiu Llefia were our 2015 champions and were on the hunt for a second title. Their most recent appearance was in 2019 they enjoyed another strong group performance with 3 wins and 1 draw out of 5 games. Their only defeat came to Hungary's FC Miracle who have two eurofootballfives.com titles to their name. They finished 2nd in the group and qualified for the Cup competition. In the Quarter-Finals they drew 0-0 with the eventual champions, Sintetrimeni of Greece, but went out on a penalty shoot-out.

Having won 5-1 in their first game they looked like they meant business here in 2021. They continued that good form here in their second game. A quality first half saw them move 2-0 ahead. Carlos Perez Torney opened the scoring before Benjamin Salas Jardon extended the lead.

In the second half, Club Esportiu Llefia moved through the gears and Carlos Perez Torney spearheaded the attack. He scored a second half hat-trick (to add to his hat-trick in the previous match) to put his team 5-0 up. Adrian Porras Hernandez put the icing on the cake of a 6-0 victory as Ramon Betat Segu kept his first clean sheet of the day.

It was 2 wins from 2 for CE Llefia, 2 defeats from 2 for Son Les Onze.

The game that took us to the halfway stage of Group B was to be FC Dad (Eng) versus Sharks (Spa). This could quite easily be a Sharks v Sharks game as FC Dad are the 5-a-side team to the 11-a-side team of South London Sharks. When the group has travelled to our tournaments before they have often appeared with 3 sides – FC Dad, FC Maroon and FC Shark. This game could quite easily be dubbed the Sharks derby despite the two teams not having met before.

FC Dad arguably came into the game as favourites after a 3-1 win over Son Les Onze. Sharks came into the match after a 2-2 draw having been 2-0 up. Sharks (Spa) were to hit the front in this fixture too. Roel Renken was the man to put his team ahead. 1-0 became 2-0 when Sean Fagan increased the lead. At half-time, Sharks were 2-0 up just as they were in their opening game.

Sharks must have been getting a feeling of déjà vu when they saw their lead cut to 2-1 early in the second half. It didn't help that it was Sean Fagan putting through his own net. This time though Sharks had enough in the (Shark) tank to see out the victory and claim their first victory of the day. They moved into second position in the table.
