The first Veterans final of the day would see Inter Campos Vets versus Very Old Salesians B. With fives games of football already under their belts, the two teams would need to summon one last burst of energy to ensure they would be picking up winners and not runners-up medals in the presentation.

In a slightly unusual turn of events in this format, it was the two teams who finished fourth in their groups reaching the final. Both teams had defeated the third placed teams from their opposing groups to reach this stage. Both teams had battled valiantly and triumphed via a penalty shootout to reach this showdown.

Let's have a look at the two teams' credentials for the Plate title:

Inter Campos Vets were crowned 2026 Mallorca Veterans Plate champions after a composed and ultimately decisive 3–1 victory over Very Old Salesians B in a competitive final that swung on key moments in both halves. Having progressed through a tight semi-final, the Spanish side carried their momentum into the showpiece match and quickly established control of proceedings against a resilient Old Salesians outfit.

The opening breakthrough came in the first half through Luis Roldan, whose goal gave Inter Campos Vets a deserved 1–0 lead at the interval. It was a fairly even period in terms of chances, but the Spanish side showed greater cutting edge in front of goal, taking advantage of one of their opportunities while keeping their shape defensively to preserve the advantage. 1-0 at half-time.

Their position was strengthened early in the second half when Sebastian Grimau Bonet doubled the lead to make it 2–0, putting Inter Campos Vets firmly in control of the final. However, with time running out, Very Old Salesians B refused to go quietly and responded through Johnny Hudson, whose third goal of the tournament reduced the deficit to 2–1 and set up a tense closing phase. If they could eek out another goal they would take this match to penalties.

Any hopes of a comeback were ultimately extinguished when Edgar Rodriguez scored the crucial third goal for Inter Campos Vets, opening his account at the perfect moment to seal the victory. That goal proved to be the winner and effectively sealed the Plate in favour of the Spanish team. The 3–1 result confirmed Inter Campos as winners, while Very Old Salesians B were left with disappointment but pride after a strong run to the final.

First of all, we offer our consolations to Very Old Salesians B on a fine campaign – close but no cigar for them. They had reached a European final on debut in our tournaments which is no mean feat.

Huge congratulations though go to our 2026 Mallorca Veterans Five Plate champions – Inter Campos Vets. A great performance from them.
