We had two unbeaten sides, as Skidmarks and Los Domingueros met after both navigating the tournament with four wins and a draw in normal time. Despite Skidmarks arriving with superior statistics in terms of goals scored and goal difference, the final quickly proved that none of that mattered, as both teams approached the match with discipline, respect, and a clear focus on avoiding the first mistake.

The opening half was a tactical battle, with neither side able to create sustained dominance or carve out clear-cut chances. Defensively, both teams were excellent, cutting off passing lanes and limiting space in dangerous areas, and as a result the match remained goalless at halftime. It was a period defined more by structure and organisation than attacking flair, with both sets of players fully aware that one moment could decide the final.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with tension steadily building as the game moved towards the closing stages. Los Domingueros and Skidmarks both had half-chances, but neither could find a breakthrough, and the prospect of penalties loomed large as the match ticked into its final moments. Just as the shootout seemed inevitable, however, the decisive incident arrived inside the area.

Skidmarks were awarded a penalty at a crucial moment, and Iain Congdon stepped forward to convert under immense pressure, scoring the only goal of the game to secure a 1–0 victory. That moment proved enough to clinch the Cup title, as Skidmarks added a Veterans trophy to their three Open Age titles and moved to four eurofootballfives.com titles overall. From Valencia to Krakow to Budapest and now to Mallorca, they had won tournaments across Europe.

Our sincere commiserations to Los Domingueros who had come so close to glory but just missed out. It was a superb day's play for them but it was just not meant to be though. There's definitely a future title there for them to win.

Our congratulations go to Skidmarks – they are now one of 4 teams who have claimed four eurofootballfives.com titles and are now just one behind the all-time record of 5 tournament wins (by CIS Committee of Belarus).
