That
left us with Bugiels Athletic and Semen Padang
to complete Round 6. Semen Padang were the final
members of the Cup chasing quartet in action and
if they could take all 3 points it would mean
four teams on 10 points going into the final round
of games.
Bugiels
Athletic were in desperate need of the points
themselves. They were currently in 7th and looking
to avoid elimination from the tournament. They
were up against RAF2 in their final game which
was effectively a winner takes all game to avoid
being knocked out. However, a draw currently would
see RAF2 through. A win for Bugiels would see
that advantage swing into their favour.
Bugiels
got off to the perfect start as Stef Antoci broke
the deadlock. Things were looking up for the English
side but it was a blow for the Dutch. Semen Padang
were level though through Thomas Jans fourth goal
of the tournament. Bugiels Athletic were not to
be demoralized though and they restored their
lead to 2-1 through Francis Jackson. It was a
goal that proved to be the winner and a vital
3 points for the English (not only Bugiels but
also Lindfield FC). It meant Cup qualification
was in PFC and Lindfield FC's hands. Semen Padang
would have to win and hope for a slip up elsewhere.
Bugiels
Atheltic moved off the foot of the table at just
the right time.
