As we went past the half-way mark in Group C results were getting more and more important as games remaining became less and less. It was a top of the table encounter up next as Return of the Dancing Horses III met Lox.

Return of the Dancing Horses III took the early advantage with Darren Flack's first goal of the day and they enjoyed a 1-0 lead at the break. In the second period they doubled their advantage when Craig Harrison scored his second of the tournament for 2-0. Things got even better for Dancing Horses when David Rose made it 3-0 and the Dancing Horses, like Pegasus, were flying so to speak.

Return of the Dancing Horses III were top of Group C with a goal difference of +8 and still to concede in the tournament. For Lox, it was a disappointing result but not the end of the world as they had one game left where a point would be good enough to qualify for the Cup.

Game 7 was Irish Mbassy versus Krakow Team. The former were looking for their first points whilst Krakow Team would come into the game on a high having just secured a fine last gasp victory.

So, how would this one pan out? The two teams were very evenly matched with the two attacks enjoying times more than defences and we saw goalkeepers picking the ball out of the net five times in the opening period as Krakow Team edged it 3-2. It would have been easy for Irish Mbassy to get that sinking feeling with two defeats behind them and a third on the cards but they staged a fine comeback and made it 4-4 to register their first points of the day and move into fourth position. For Krakow Team it was another point as they consolidated third position.

The goalscorers for Irish Mbassy were Kevin Hayes (2), Marcin Paprowicz and Andy Keogh. For Krakow Team it was Szymon Martynska (2), Piotr Wojcieszak and Duszyk Mirek.

Atlantic Star and Lox both went into the next fixture on the back of defeats and disappointment. Atlantic Star's was a tough one having lead to lose late on whereas Lox saw their 100% record ended at the hands or should we say feet (or should we say hooves) of the Dancing Horses.

Atlantic Star made the early running in this game and found themselves ahead again through registered goalkeeper Richard Ladd. His goal was enough to see them lead 1-0 at the break. For the second time in a row Atlantic Star were unable to maintain that lead as they saw Filip Betzak equalize with his fourth goal of the competition. It got worse for Atlantic Star as Michot Urtomiczyk put Lox 2-1 up.

Atlantic Star could not respond and whilst playing ok found themselves without reward again. Lox had concluded their Group C campaign with a return of 9 points which would see them qualify for the Cup. They could even claim the Group C title depending upon the Dancing Horses result in their final fixture.

Lox would not have to wait long as the last group games for Return of the Dancing Horses III and Krakow arrived in Game 9. Return of the Dancing Horses III knew a point would be good enough to claim the Group C title. Krakow Team needed a win to book a place in the Cup as one of the two best 3 rd placed finishers. A draw would see Krakow Team miss out by a point and play in the Plate.

As we said, Return of the Dancing Horses III knew a point was good enough for the Group C title but they were not resting on their laurels and they were going for a win to maintain their 100% record. Craig Harrison scored his third of the day and David Rose his second as the Dancing Horses lead 2-0 at the break. The Group C title was as good as in the bag.

Krakow Team were unable to break down the Dancing Horses III defence and the English team comfortably saw the game out to complete Group C with a fine record – 4 wins, 10 goals, no goals conceded.

Krakow Team would play in the Plate competition this afternoon but the Dancing Horses would go into the Cup as one of the teams to watch!

The final Group C fixture was a straight shoot-out for 4th place, honour, pride and a theoretically easier Plate Quarter-Final fixture in the next stage of this tournament. These two teams had a little bit of history having come face to face in the 2011 Krakow Trophy as Irish Mbassy registered a 3-0 win on their way to picking up the Plate Trophy.

Atlantic Star got a measure of revenge in 2012 with a 3-0 win of their own. Paul Coram put the English team on their way in the first half and scored again in the second period. There was a second of the day for Mark Brereton (aka Tubes) and after taking the lead twice so far today this was the first time Atlantic Star could maintain that lead. Would this be the confidence boost and change of fortune they needed to turn their day around?
