| All
teams had now played each other once and the Group
B table had begun to take shape. The two teams
at the top were World Pintuer and FC Mahou. They
met again in Game 7 as they had done in Game 1.
Earlier in the day they had played out a competitive
game that World Pinteur had edged 1-0 at the end.
If World Pinteur could repeat the feat they would
move 4 points clear at the top. FC Mahou could
leapfrog above their opponents with a win of their
own.
In
their previous encounters, there had only been
1 goal in 4 halves of football so it was perhaps
no surprise we reached half-time all square in
this one, 0-0. The second half continued in much
the same vein, with both sides knowing that one
goal could make all the difference in such a tight
contest. FC Mahou eventually found the breakthrough
through Mike Brandon, who struck his third goal
of the day to give the English side a crucial
1-0 lead. It was a significant moment for several
reasons: Brandon continued his excellent scoring
form, and, just as importantly, he became the
first player to beat World Pinteur goalkeeper
Benoit Botteau during the tournament. After three
successive clean sheets, Botteau's impressive
run had finally come to an end. The goal proved
to be the difference between the sides, with FC
Mahou protecting their advantage to secure a valuable
victory and avenge their earlier defeat to the
French team.
The
result had a major impact on the Group B standings.
FC Mahou climbed to the top of the table, while
World Pinteur's unbeaten record for the day was
gone. The French side had conceded just once across
their opening four matches and had lost only this
one, making their subsequent slide to third place
particularly harsh in light of their defensive
consistency. Their three clean sheets in the first
three games had provided a superb foundation,
but this narrow defeat demonstrated just how fine
the margins could be in such a competitive group.
For FC Mahou, meanwhile, Brandon's winner was
another important contribution in a productive
day in front of goal, and the victory put them
in a strong position as the race for the knockout
places intensified.

FC
Poloboc and JK Silvertown B renewed acquaintances
in a fixture that carried significant consequences
for both sides as Group B entered its decisive
stages. Their earlier meeting had gone the way
of the Moldovans, who edged a 2-1 victory, and
they arrived at this rematch with contrasting
pressures. FC Poloboc were looking to keep their
Cup qualification hopes alive and maintain their
bid for a fifth eurofootballfives title, while
JK Silvertown B still had an outside chance of
reaching the top two. For the English side, however,
the margin for error had become extremely small:
they needed to win all three of their remaining
matches, starting with this one, to give themselves
any realistic hope of climbing the standings.
Both teams knew that another defeat could prove
costly, making this a crucial encounter in the
battle for the knockout places.
JK
Silvertown B made the ideal start by taking the
lead through their number 17, giving the English
side hope of reversing their earlier defeat and
keeping their qualification ambitions alive. FC
Poloboc, though, had other ideas. Victor Gingota,
who had also scored in the Moldovans' previous
game against FC Mahou, once again proved influential
by finding the equaliser and bringing the score
to 1-1. Gingota was not finished there, going
on to score again and turn the match around, putting
FC Poloboc 2-1 ahead. Having fallen behind, the
Moldovans had responded with determination, and
Gingota's brace gave them control of a match in
which the points were becoming increasingly precious.
Grigore Badea then added a third goal for FC Poloboc,
making it 3-1 and giving his side breathing space
as they closed in on a vital victory.
The
final whistle confirmed a 3-1 win for FC Poloboc,
completing the double over JK Silvertown B after
their earlier 2-1 success. The result kept the
Moldovans in contention for a Cup qualification
place and ensured their hopes of adding a fifth
eurofootballfives title remained alive as they
moved into second position. For JK Silvertown
B, the defeat was a major setback, meaning Cup
qualification was no longer mathematically possible.
After taking the lead, they had been unable to
contain FC Poloboc's response, they were battling
bravely in such a high standard group.

As
Group B entered its fifth round of matches,
FC Mahou and JK Silvertown B found themselves
with very different objectives. FC Mahou had
moved to the top of the table and held a two-point
advantage over their nearest rivals, meaning
another victory would preserve their lead and
potentially strengthen their position ahead
of the closing fixtures. However, with the group
so competitive, defeat could leave them vulnerable
to being overtaken and dropping to second, depending
on results elsewhere. JK Silvertown B, meanwhile,
had seen their hopes of reaching the Cup disappear,
but still had the Plate competition to look
forward to. Having lost the reverse fixture
3-1, the English side were looking to finish
their campaign positively, restore some pride
and potentially disrupt FC Mahou's push for
top spot.
FC
Mahou made the breakthrough when Oliver James
scored to put them 1-0 ahead, registering his
first goal of the day and giving the league
leaders an important early advantage. JK Silvertown
B responded well, though, and Joey May found
the equaliser to bring the score to 1-1. It
was May's second goal of the day, underlining
his contribution to the Silvertown attack despite
the team's difficult campaign. With the scores
level, FC Mahou needed another moment of quality
to regain control, and it was James who stepped
forward once more. The forward scored his second
of the match to restore the English side's lead
at 2-1. James had been FC Mahou's leading scorer
at the Porto tournament last year, finishing
with six goals, and his brace here offered another
reminder of his acumen in front of goal. This
time, his contribution would prove decisive.
FC
Mahou held on to secure a 2-1 victory, completing
another important step in their bid to finish
at the top of Group B. Oliver James' double
made the difference, while the team's ability
to respond after conceding the proved crucial
in a match that could easily have swung the
other way. The result ensured FC Mahou remained
top of the table, keeping their advantage intact
as the other teams continued to battle for position.
The result meant FC Mahou would qualify for
the Cup regardless of their final group game
result. For JK Silvertown B, the narrow defeat
was another frustrating result, particularly
after they had fought back to level the score.
They continued to be competitive without reward
for their efforts, they remained fourth in the
standings and would now look to finish their
remaining fixture strongly and carry some momentum
into the Plate competition.

FC
Poloboc and World Pinteur met for the fourth time
in what had become a fascinating rivalry between
two closely matched sides. Their previous three
encounters had produced a 1-1 draw, a 2-2 draw
and a goalless stalemate in the reverse fixture
earlier in the day, with World Pinteur yet to
lead at any stage across those meetings. Now,
with both teams level on seven points, the stakes
could hardly have been higher. FC Poloboc held
the advantage on goal difference, but the Cup
qualification battle remained wide open. A draw
would leave the contest unresolved until the final
round of fixtures, while victory would give either
side a significant advantage. For World Pinteur,
the prospect was particularly appealing, with
a theoretically easier fixture awaiting them in
the final round. FC Poloboc, however, knew that
a win of their own would put them in a commanding
position and strengthen their hopes of adding
another eurofootballfives title to their collection.
The
opening stages carried all the tension expected
from such an important fixture, with both teams
aware that a single goal could have a major impact
on their qualification prospects. It was FC Poloboc
who finally broke the deadlock, as Leonid Cigureanu
found the net to give the Moldovans a 1-0 lead.
Cigureanu's strike was his third goal of the day,
continuing his impressive contribution to the
FC Poloboc attack and giving his team a crucial
advantage in the race for the top two. World Pinteur
had built much of their campaign around their
defensive resilience, but they now faced the challenge
of finding a response against opponents who had
proved difficult to overcome in their previous
meetings – but they had equalised on 3 separate
occasions so all was not lost. FC Poloboc protected
their lead through to half-time, reaching the
interval 1-0 ahead and leaving World Pinteur needing
to change the course of the contest after the
restart.
FC
Poloboc strengthened their position in the second
half when Victor Gingota scored to make it 2-0.
Gingota, who had already been among the goals
earlier in the day, registered his fourth strike
of the tournament and gave the Moldovans a valuable
two-goal cushion in this crucial encounter. Having
struggled to gain the upper hand in their previous
meetings with FC Poloboc, World Pinteur now faced
their toughest challenge yet against the Moldovan
side. The second goal gave FC Poloboc a significant
advantage in a match (and Group B generally) that
could ultimately determine who secured a Cup place,
while World Pinteur were left needing a response
to keep themselves firmly in the qualification
picture.

| FC
Mahou and FC Poloboc renewed their rivalry in
a fixture that carried enormous significance for
the final Group B standings but particularly for
FC Poloboc. The latest meeting added another chapter
to a series that had so far favoured the Moldovans,
who had claimed two victories to FC Mahou's one.
Crucially for the English side, that sole win
had come earlier in the day, giving them confidence
heading into this fixture. FC Mahou had already
secured their place in the Cup, but they had the
opportunity to make life difficult for their rivals
and potentially prevent a team they could meet
again in the Cup Final from joining them in the
Cup competition. FC Poloboc, meanwhile, knew that
a draw would be enough to secure qualification,
but victory would bring an even greater reward:
moving above FC Mahou to finish top of Group B.
With the group honours and a Cup place at stake,
there was plenty riding on this latest instalment
of the rivalry.
FC
Poloboc made a strong start and took the lead
through Victor Gingota, who continued his prolific
day by scoring his fifth goal of the tournament.
It was an important breakthrough for the Moldovans,
who now had their qualification hopes firmly in
their own hands. FC Mahou, however, were not prepared
to let their opponents take control without a
fight (metaphorically, not literally). Gamada
Yousuf, adding further evidence of his valuable
addition to the FC Mahou ranks, scoring to bring
the match level at 1-1 and registering his fourth
goal of the day. His equaliser set up a tense
contest, with FC Mahou looking to protect their
position at the top and FC Poloboc needing to
find another goal to turn a draw into the group-winning
victory they desired. The match remained finely
poised, but the Moldovans eventually found the
decisive moment through Grigore Badea, who scored
his second goal of the day to put FC Poloboc 2-1
ahead. This time, FC Mahou could not find another
equaliser, and the Moldovans held on to claim
a crucial victory.
The
final whistle confirmed a 2-1 win for FC Poloboc,
a result that secured both their Cup qualification
and first place in Group B. Having entered the
match knowing that a draw would be sufficient
to progress, the Moldovans went one better by
defeating FC Mahou and climbing above them in
the final standings. Congratulations to both teams
on reaching the Cup competition, where they will
now have the opportunity to continue their pursuit
of the tournament title.

| JK
Silvertown B and World Pinteur approached their
final Group B fixture with contrasting motivations.
JK Silvertown B were playing for pride after their
Cup qualification hopes had disappeared, while
World Pinteur still had an outside chance of reaching
the Cup. The French side needed to win and hope
FC Poloboc lost to FC Mahou, with the necessary
swing in goal difference also required to go their
way. With that decisive fixture taking place concurrently,
World Pinteur knew their fate was partly out of
their hands. If FC Poloboc could secure even a
point, the result on this pitch would become academic.
Nevertheless, both sides had an opportunity to
finish their group campaign positively, with World
Pinteur looking to rediscover the defensive solidity
that had characterised their opening matches.
World
Pinteur took the lead through Eric Lemoisson,
but JK Silvertown B responded with an equaliser
from their number 17. Lemoisson then struck again
to put the French side 2-1 ahead, only for Silvertown
B to draw level once more, this time through their
number 23. The contest was developing into an
entertaining end-to-end encounter, a striking
contrast to World Pinteur's earlier fixtures.
They had recorded three consecutive clean sheets
at the start of the tournament and conceded just
once across their first four matches, but their
defensive record had changed dramatically, with
five goals now conceded across their latest two
games. Joey May then completed Silvertown B's
turnaround by scoring to put the English side
3-2 in front, leaving World Pinteur facing the
prospect of ending their campaign with another
defeat. The French side were not finished, however,
and goalkeeper Benoit Botteau made an impact at
the opposite end by scoring from the penalty spot
to bring the score to 3-3. The final whistle confirmed
an entertaining draw, with both teams having contributed
to a match that swung repeatedly between the sides.
In
the end, the 3-3 result proved academic in the
context of Cup qualification, as FC Poloboc secured
the result they needed against FC Mahou to finish
top of Group B, leaving World Pinteur unable to
claim the final Cup place. Both World Pinteur
and JK Silvertown B therefore had to settle for
the Plate competition. For the French side, the
late stages of the group had been frustrating
after such a strong start, while Silvertown B
could take encouragement from a spirited performance
in which they twice recovered from behind and
even moved into the lead. Although neither team
achieved the outcome they might have hoped for,
they had at least finished their group campaign
with an entertaining contest and could now turn
their attention to the Plate knockout stages.
