JK
Silvertown A are the defending champions of the
October Veterans event having taken glory in Barcelona
12 months ago. They opened up with a 3-2 win against
FC Tpaktop before a win over AFC Shooters (3-0)
and a draw against TEAM Polonia Limerick, 3-3.
They returned to winning ways against Rapid Bosco
Navas, 5-1, and continued with wins over Red Star
(4-0) and Skidmarks OGs (5-1) to win Group A.
In the Cup Semi-Finals they defeated Bulgaria's
The Legends, 3-1. In the Cup Final they met Celtic
Eagles and collected a second successive Veterans
title with a 4-2 victory.
Last
year's winners were handed a tough opening fixture
as they met Cup Semi-Finalists, The Legends. As
you can see in our preview above the English team
won 3-1 last year. A repeat of that would be the
perfect start to their Lloret de Mar campaign.
The Legends would no doubt be gunning for revenge.
It was the Bulgarian team that got off to a brighter
start as they took the lead through Aleksander
Shabanov. 1-0 became 2-0 as Mariyan Chernaev put
The Legends into a strong lead. The game was certainly
not over though as JK Silvertown A reduced the
deficit with a goal from their number 17.
At
2-1 the game was back in the balance but The Legends
had a bit of breathing space when Aleksander Shabanov
was on target again to open up a 3-1 lead for
The Legends. When the referee blew his whistle
for full-time the score remained 3-1 and The Legends
had taken all 3 points in a sensational opening
performance for them. It was a statement result
for them as they defeated the defending champions.

FC
Moldova Montreal (Can) made the longest journey
of all our teams to the 2026 Lloret de Mar Veterans.
They have already competed this year at the
2026 Lisbon Veterans. It was an excellent debut
as they racked up wins against Los Guerreros
(3-0), Santa Cruz (3-2), FC Moldova United (4-0)
and Estrela Camarate (3-0). They won Group A
with a 100% record, 13 goals scored and just
2 conceded. In the Cup Semi-Finals they met
FC Poloboc and drew 1-1. They lost the penalty
shootout 3-2. They come to Lloret de Mar unbeaten
in regular time in our tournaments.
FC
Moldova Montreal would take that unbeaten record
into their opening game with The Maulers (more
on them later). The Canadians made a strong
start to the contest, with Vadim Arama opening
the scoring to put FC Moldova Montreal 1-0 ahead.
They continued to build on that advantage and
doubled their lead through Iurii Verbanov before
Denis Creanga added a third, leaving The Maulers
with a difficult task to get back into the game.
The Montrealais were showing the same attacking
intent that had served them so well in Lisbon.
The Maulers
did manage to find a response when Chris D'Arcy
reduced the deficit to 3-1, giving the English
side something to build on. However, FC Moldova
Montreal quickly restored their three-goal cushion
as Maxim Macari found the net to make it 4-1.
That proved to be the final goal of the game,
with Montreal seeing out a convincing opening
victory and extending their impressive record
of avoiding defeat in regular time at eurofootballfives
tournaments. Their four different goalscorers
also demonstrated the variety of their attacking
threat. For The Maulers, the defeat means they
will need to regroup quickly as they pursue
a place in the knockout stages, with further
group fixtures offering an opportunity to get
their campaign back on track.

Catalunya
Legends Juniors began their Lloret de Mar campaign
against a formidable opponent in JK Silvertown
A, winners of the 2024 Porto Veterans and 2025
Barcelona Veterans tournaments. Silvertown had
already suffered an opening-game setback against
The Legends, losing 3-1, and were keen to get
their campaign back on track. However, it was
the Juniors who made the early breakthrough, with
their number 8, David Soler, finding the net to
give the Spanish side a 1-0 lead and put the pressure
on the experienced English outfit.
JK
Silvertown A responded through Chris Wright, who
brought the scores level before Chris Brigitte
turned the game around to put the defending champions
2-1 ahead. Catalunya Legends Juniors refused to
let their heads drop, though, and Yamniek Dubois
restored parity at 2-2 to set up a tense finish.
With the match finely balanced, JK Silvertown
A found the decisive goal through Bradley Cousins,
whose strike made it 3-2 and ultimately secured
a crucial victory for the English side.
The
final whistle confirmed a 3-2 win for JK Silvertown
A, giving them a much-needed response after their
opening defeat and keeping their hopes of a strong
Group A finish firmly alive. Having demonstrated
their pedigree with major tournament victories
in Porto and Barcelona, they will hope this hard-fought
result marks the beginning of their bid for glory.
For Catalunya Legends Juniors, there was disappointment
at falling just short, but their performance against
such experienced opposition showed they can be
competitive in this group. They will look to turn
that promise into points in their remaining fixtures.

| The
Legends (Bul) made their debut at the 2025 Barcelona
Veterans. They made an impressive start with a
3-1 win over Skidmarks 4Gs, 2-0 wins over JK Silvertown
B and The Maulers, a 3-2 win over Lucanos Locos
and a 5-0 win over Bede FC. They finished their
group campaign against Celtic Eagles who also
had a perfect record of 5 wins out of 5. They
needed to win to top the group but drew 1-1 which
meant they finished second on goal difference.
They had still done enough to finish second and
reach the Cup. In the Semi-Finals they met JK
Silvertown A but lost 3-1 to exit the tournament.
Today, they avenged that defeat by recording a
3-1 win of their own to get their Lloret de Mar
campaign off to the perfect start.
The
Legends now faced another stern test against FC
Moldova Montreal. The Canadian team had also started
with a win (4-1). This was a high quality contest
so early in the tournament. It was FC Moldova
Montreal who carried their winning momentum into
the contest, with Vadim Arama finding the net
for the second game in succession to give the
Canadians a 1-0 lead. The Legends were determined
to respond, but a couple of early bookings reflected
their frustrations as they struggled to break
down a well-organised Montreal side. The Bulgarian
team eventually found their way back into the
game through Mariyan Chernaev, who also continued
his scoring streak by netting for the second consecutive
match to bring the scores level at 1-1. With both
teams having started the day with victories, the
contest was finely poised as they looked to maintain
their perfect records.
FC
Moldova Montreal responded impressively to being
pegged back, regaining the lead through Marian
Luca to make it 2-1. The Canadians then strengthened
their position when Denis Creanga scored to extend
the advantage to 3-1. The Legends had already
shown their attacking quality in Barcelona and
in their opening match here, but they were unable
to find another response against a Montreal side
that had now scored seven goals across its first
two games. The final whistle confirmed a 3-1 victory
for FC Moldova Montreal, leaving them with another
valuable three points. |

| The
Maulers were making their fifth eurofootballfives.com
appearance at Veterans level. Most recently, a
t the 2025 Barcelona Veterans they began with
a 2-2 draw against Lucanos Locos. They then suffered
a 2-0 defeat to The Legends before a first win
(1-0) versus Bede FC. They then lost 5-0 to Celtic
Eagles before a second victory of the day against
Skidmarks 4Gs (1-0). Their final game was a 0-0
draw against JK Silvertown B which saw them finish
4 th in the table and qualify for the Plate Semi-Finals.
They met Skidmarks OGs but went out by the odd
goal in a five goal thriller, 3-2.
Today,
they opened up against a still unbeaten FC Moldova
Montreal and lost 4-1, no shame against formidable
opposition. They now faced Catalunya Legends Juniors
who themselves were looking to recover from a
3-2 opening defeat to JK Silvertown A. Catalunya
Legends Juniors made a positive start to the contest,
with Jaume Soto opening the scoring to put the
Spanish side 1-0 ahead. Having narrowly lost their
opening game against JK Silvertown A, the Juniors
were keen to get their first points on the board,
and Soto's goal gave them an important early advantage.
They continued to make their mark in attack and
doubled their lead when Soto struck again, putting
Catalunya Legends Juniors 2-0 up and leaving The
Maulers with a significant challenge if they were
to rescue anything from the match.
The
Maulers needed a response and once again Chris
D'Arcy proved to be their man, finding the net
for the second consecutive game to reduce the
deficit to 2-1. His goal gave the English side
renewed hope of salvaging a result, but Catalunya
Legends Juniors held firm to protect their slender
advantage. Despite The Maulers getting back within
one goal, the Spanish side saw out the remainder
of the contest to claim a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
The win gives Catalunya Legends Juniors a valuable
first three points of their campaign keeping them
firmly in contention as Group A begins to take
shape. For The Maulers, a second defeat leaves
them with work to do in their remaining fixtures
if they are to challenge for a place in the knockout
stages. D'Arcy's goals have provided a positive
for the English side, but they will need to turn
those promising moments into points as the tournament
progresses. |
