We were down to our final 4 teams in the Plate competition. The first Semi-Final would see Bear Ballerz (Fra) versus Athletico Patrick Bateman (Ire). The Irish team had a decent record today with 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats with a goal difference of -1 (6-7). This set things up nicely with a Bear Ballerz side who had 1 win, 1 draw and 2 defeats with a 0 goal difference (7-7).

The two teams looked evenly matched and so it proved in the first half. The two teams were locked together at 0-0 as the referee blew the whistle for full-time. With the second half underway it was Athletico Patrick Bateman who drew first blood. Robert Carson's fifth goal of the competition saw his side go 1-0 up. It moved him towards the top of that goalscoring charts as well as his team a step closer to a European final.

Bear Ballerz were appearing in a Plate Semi-Final for the second time having reached this same stage at the 2022 Amsterdam Sixes going out 1-0 to Freshers FC. They were to avoid going out by the same score when Adam Rahbi levelled things up at 1-1. The game turned on its head when Cedric Mercier put the French side 2-1 up. The momentum was fully with Bear Ballerz now and they took full advantage. Nicolas Moura gave them a two goal cushion at 3-1. Jack Keen put the game beyond doubt at 4-1 as Bear Ballerz surged into the Plate Final.

It was ultimately a game too far for Athletico Patrick Bateman but they'd impressed on debut and performances stacked up in a tough group and, bar a late blitz from Bear Ballerz, could well have been in a final on debut.

The second Plate Semi-Final would see Skidmarks versus Stats FC. The latter were competing at this stage for the first time and looking to reach a debut final. Skidmarks were in the Sem-Finals of our events for the 12 th time in 13 appearances. It was an impressive stat. Of the previous 11 Semi-Finals, they had a win-loss record of 7-4. They were also bidding for a little bit of history. Only 1 team in history could boast a Cup, Plate and Trophy win at our tournaments which was GSF Drunkerz of Slovakia. With 3x Cup titles and the 2022 Lisbon Trophy title, Skidmarks could become the second team if they could win their next two matches.

The match didn't begin well for Skidmarks in their quest as Aiden Silsby put Stats FC 1-0 up. Rupert Harvey was having a good day in front of goal though and this continued when he levelled things up at 1-1. The crucial moment of the game arrived before the break. In the QF, Skidmarks went 2-1 up courtesy of a penalty before the break. Here they were on the wrong end of a penalty decision as Josh Williams conceded a blatant penalty. Richard Cobbing stepped up and dispatched the spot kick to give his team a vital lead at half-time.

With the game delicately poised, the next goal would be pivotal – could Skidmarks draw level for a second time or could Stats FC open up a two goal cushion? Richard Cobbing was his team's top marksman so far today and he took his tally to an impressive 6 goals as he put Stats FC 3-1 up. 3-1 was how we finished as Stats FC would play Bear Ballerz for the Plate title.
