Group B began with Turn Down For Watford in action. Just over a year ago they came so close to their first title at the Krakow Trophy. They began well with a 3-0 win over CBT FC and went from strength to strength with a 5-1 win over Cream of the South, 2-1 win over Mngball FC and a 1-0 win over RAF. They finished the group with a minor blemish as they lost 1-0 to 2017 champions Big Time Krakow but they'd done enough to win their group. A sensational 4-0 win in the Cup Semi-Finals over 3x eurofootballfives.com champions Skidmarks saw them reach a Cup Final for the first time. They were so close to glory as they drew 2-2 with Colonel Getafe before missing out on the title via penalties (2-1).

Today they were up against Ireland's Athletico Patrick Bateman who were making their debut in our events and we wished them a warm welcome to the eurofootballfives.com scene. Talking of a warm welcome, it proved to be a tough baptism of fire.

James Wood opened the scoring for Turn Down For Watford before Rich Lyons increased the lead to 2-0. At half-time, Turn Down For Watford were in control. The second half only served to strengthen their hold on this game with James Warner on target. Rich Lyons scored his second of the match to complete a fine 4-0 victory. With 4 goals, 3 points and a clean sheet for Daniel Rennie and his defence, the tournament could not have started much better for Turn Down For Watford.

Milner Street began their eurofootballfives.com careers at the 2022 Amsterdam Sevens. They made a solid start with a 0-0 draw against The Bastards (Ned). They followed this up with two 1-0 wins against Dnipro and Armada All Stars. They then lost 3-1 to City FC before a 1-1 draw with The Gentleman's Club in a match they needed to win to reach the Cup. The draw meant they qualified for the Plate where they would meet FC Tpaktop in the Semi-Finals. They secured a 3-0 win to set up a final against Turn Down For Watford. It was a match too far as Turn Down For Watford won 5-2.

They were up against a Stroke Titti FC team who were making their debut (although goalkeeper Ross Edmonds had played in these events before for CBT FC). Milner Street started the game on the front foot, with George Neville finding the back of the net to give his side an early lead. In the second half, Milner Street continued to assert their dominance. George Gould doubled their lead with a well-taken goal, giving them a comfortable 2-0 cushion. Alex Short was a late addition to the Milner Street squad but he was already proving his worth when he added a third goal late in the game to seal a convincing 3-0 win for Milner Street.

It was a convincing start for Milner Street and a tough start for Stroke Titti FC.

G.D. Leoes da Guarda from Portugal made their debut in the Porto Sixes with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Athletico Patrick Bateman from Ireland. This was the Portuguese team's first-ever appearance in the tournament, while Athletico Patrick Bateman were coming off a tough 4-0 defeat in their opening match against Turn Down For Watford.

Game 4 of Group A was a repeat of the 2022 Amsterdam Sevens Plate Final with Turn Down For Watford meeting Milner Street. On that occasion, it was Turn Down For Watford who were victorious, 5-2. The goals were scored by Ben Gregory (2), Rich Lyons (2) and Jase Opuku-Afriyie with the latter two on the team sheet today.
