The two teams had already met earlier today and on that occasion Thursday Veterans won 2-1. They were the only team to beat Alea Iacta Est so far today. Alea Iacta Est would be desperate to gain revenge. On their last three appearances in the Cup they had reached the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Final but were looking for their first title. Last year they won the Plate competition but were gunning for the ultimate prize this time.

The game kicked off and was a high quality contest from the very start. It was Alea Iacta Est who claimed the early initiative as Piotr Malenczak bagged his 3rd goal of the tournament before Michal Sklodowski made it 2-0. Thursday Veterans Club had been slow starters today but they had come from behind in 3 of their games already today and they were to do so again. Ruben Mendes was the man that game to the rescue a he bagged a brace to restore parity before the half-time break, 2-2.

The second half kicked off with Thursday Veterans holding the momentum. Having been 2-0 down they now went ahead at 3-2 with Joao Martins scoring what could have been a tournament winner. Alea Iacta Est were now on the back foot but they dug deep and recovered with an equalizing goal from Michal Slodowski. At 3-3 it was anybody's guess where this game was going. Our money was on a penalty shoot-out like 3 of the 4 semi-finals but we were wrong. There was to be a late winner in normal time. It was perhaps fitting that the goal came from Krzysztof Kurzeja – captain and driving force of the team in these tournaments. Final score, 4-3, and another magnificent game in today's event. A superb climax to the tournament.

Please spare a thought for Thursday Veterans – they had put in a stunning effort and were so close to glory. Our sincere commiserations to them on this occasion.

Our congratulations go to Alea Iacta Est on their maiden eurofootballfives.com victory. They have worked so hard for it since 2018 with trips to Gdansk, Warsaw and Krakow. They were brilliant on the day and deserved their celebrations.
