Following Spanish victory in the 2008 Barca Fives (Rapid Bosco Navas won the title) the 2009 Barcelona Fives in June saw a Spanish clean sweep of all the silverware.

Anglo Knights won the prestigious Cup competition and Dynamo won the Plate competition. The top goalscorer prize went to Spanish team Dynamo's English striker, Gary Moore with a return of 7 goals for the tournament.
