Team
Amman A, having sat out round 1, were keen to
get their campaign going. It began in a tough
fixture against a Liverbirds FC team still jubilant
after their opening round victory. Team Amman
A proved sterner opposition than the B team and
the Liverbirds FC forwards found goals much harder
to come by. In fact goals were much harder to
find for all concerned and it would be a solitary
strike that would decide this game. The strike
in question came from the boot of Danielle Robertson
for Liverbirds FC. The 1-0 victory keeping them
top with a maximum 6 points.
Team
Amman B followed their A team on Pitch B looking
to improve on their opening fixture. BA Speedbirds
1 would be their opponents who themselves were
looking to put their first points on the board.
The goals continued to flow and, sadly for Team
Amman B, not at the right end for them. The good
news for them is that they had made a 33% improvement
on their first game. This still meant BA Speedbirds
1 ran in 10 goals for a comfortable 10-0 victory.
The forwards to benefit were Lou Dutton (3), Lucy
Gibson (2), Char Bungeroo (2) and Katie Youell
(3).
Round
2 was completed with Camden Town Ladies and BA
Speedbirds 2. Camden Town Ladies claimed victory
to put them joint top with Liverbirds FC, second
only on goal difference. Just as in the first
game it was Carmel Clinton who got the ball rolling
for Camden . She later added her second of the
game and then Mary Guest opened her tournament
account to make it 3-0. Another clean sheet for
Healey and Camden Town Ladies were looking strong.
BA Speedbirds 2 on the other hand had found a
tough opening to this competition and were still
searching for their first goal and points. Better
things to come from them. |
