The first Plate Semi-Final was between Team Koopman and Indonesia FC. Team Koopmancame into the Plate as the highest ranked of the competing teams and with that you could arguably say they were favourites. However, due to a bye they'd had a little gap between games which could well have upset their rhythm. They met an Indonesia FC team that were buoyant and resurgent having just won their Quarter-Final against We Pay People.

The two teams had met in Group A earlier in the day and on that occasion Team Koopman had won 4-1. A repeat of that and Team Koopman would reach the Plate Final. Indonesia FC would obviously try and do all they could to prevent that happening.

The previous time these two met they played out a 1-1 first half but this time round it was Team Koopman who seized the initiative as they opened up a 2-0 lead thanks to strikes from Galied and Mitchell. Indonesia FC did pull a goal back through Ros Poluyga but Lenny Kroes second half strike sealed a 3-1 win for Team Koopman.

Team Koopman were through to the Plate Final. Indonesia FC would now have a watching brief for the rest of the tournament – the bar awaited them for a well-earned beer.

So, who would meet Team Koopman in the Plate Final? It would be either Rain Dragons or Wizards of WhatsApp as England took on the Netherlands.

This game was going to be a tough one to call as the two teams had similar records. Both teams had won 2 and lost 3 of their 5 games so far. Both teams had a tournament goal difference of -4 for the day. Rain Dragons had a more conservative 8 goals for and 12 against whereas Wizards of WhatsApp had a maverick and flamboyant 20 goals for but 20 conceded.

You felt if Rain Dragons could keep it tight at the back there would be opportunities at the other end if they could take them. It was a tight first half and the defence was doing their bit by shutting out Wizards of WhatsApp. They also scored the opening goal of the game to lead 1-0.

In the second half the goals flowed and mainly for the Rain Dragons. They went on to hit their opponents for 5 with Will Watkins, Mitchell Piggon, Haydn Gush and Andrew Jeffries (2) all on target. Bas and Charly were on the score-sheet for Wizards of WhatsApp but could not prevent their team exiting the tournament.
