The 2024 Amsterdam Fives marks the 17th eurofootballfives tournament weekend in the Dutch capital and 21st individual tournament. This great city has proved to be an amazing host since its debut in 2008. Teams from four nations competed before Olympic Phil Babb claimed the inaugural Amsterdam Fives trophy. Since then a plethora of teams including Bull Heads, Goldsmith Williams, Inter Women, CEPL, Athletico Do Hollande, Benecke, BSP FC, Melee FC, Epsilon Rovers and FC Kicks have all tasted Amsterdam success. Foot130 of the France became the latest to taste glory when they won in 2023. The Amsterdam Fives has seen teams compete from Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Rep, England, France, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Wales over the years.

The Dutch have always had a special place in world football being the architects of 'Total Football'. The famous orange-clad dutchmen of the 1970's set the world alight with their innovative and entertaining brand of football. In fact, the 1970s Holland team is arguably the greatest side never to have lifted the World Cup. No-one epitomises this more than Johan Cruyff, innovator of the eponymous Cruyff Turn.

Ajax is one of the teams that has earned the right to keep the European Cup - winning consecutively from 1971 through to 1973. In 1972, they completed the treble by winning the Dutch League, Cup and European Cup. Add the 1995 Champions League, with one of the finest young teams to win the tournament, there are not many cities in the world that can claim a finer breeding ground.

So you know the football pedigree of Amsterdam and Ajax - do you know what the city has to offer in terms of entertainment? Of course you do! Format: 3 groups of 6 teams will play in the group stages. The top two teams in each group plus the best two third place teams will progress to the Cup which will then be played on a knockout basis (Quarter-, Semi- and Final). The remaining third placed, fourth and fifth placed teams plus the best 6th placed team will progress to the Plate which will also be played on a knockout basis. The remaining two teams will play-off for the Wooden Spoon.

Tournament Venue

The 2024 Amsterdam Fives will be held at a purpose built 5-a-aside football facility that opened in December 2015. Changing facilities, food and drink stalls plus a medic will all be on hand.

* Female players are permitted but it is not a mixed tournament per se. Female players will most likely play against all male teams.
