The first Plate Semi-Final was between Budapest Celtic Tigers and Boca Seniors. Budapest Celtic Tigers came into the Plate as the highest ranked of the seven teams and with that you could arguably say they were favourites. However, due to a bye they'd had a little gap between games which could well have upset their rhythm. They met a Boca Seniors team that were buoyant and resurgent having just pulled off a great win against the Budapest Celtic Lions. Could they claim a second Budapest Celtic scalp.

This game was proving to be another close contest. The Tigers did what the Lions couldn't though and that was to take a lead into half-time against Boca Seniors. Rob Longworth was the man who scored the goal and put his team on the front foot.

After the break, Paul Kamondy made it 2-0 and the pressure was now on Boca Seniors. As things stood they were playing their final game in the 2014 Valencia Fives unless they could turn things around. Nicolas Landy made it 3-0 to Budapest Celtic Tigers and there was no way back for Boca Seniors now.

The Budapest Celtic Tigers were through to the Plate Final. Boca Seniors would now have a watching brief for the rest of the tournament – the bar awaited them for a well-earned beer.

So, who would meet Budapest Celtic Tigers in the Plate Final? It would be either Pensat I Fet or Saipan FC.

Pensat I Fet had just picked up their first win of the day in the Quarter-Finals but had a tough ask to make it two wins in two games. Their opponents Saipan FC had just won their last two games emphatically 7-0 and 5-0. They were at the top of their game as they looked to make it 4 wins out of 4 in eurofootballfives.com Semi-Finals – their record read 2-0 v It's Back in the 2011 Prague Masters, penalty win versus Budapest Celtic Lions in the 2012 Barcelona Fives (Cup) and a 3-0 win over Stadtrandkicker in the 2013 Berlin Fives.

Pensat I Fet breached the Saipan FC defence for the first time in 3 games through Stephane Croveian but they still trailed at half-time, 3-1. Saipan FC were scoring goals for fun at the moment and bagged four more in the second period to produce a comprehensive 7-1 victory.

There was another two goals for Agus Benedito Galmes, a hat-trick for Julian Cornelius plus a goal each for Tom Bird and Cormac McLoughlin.

Saipan FC had a final to prepare for……
