So, the 2008 Premiership In…Portugal had now reached it's climax after 30 games of action and the challenge of six teams had come to a conclusion it was Man Utd and Chelsea still standing to decide the winners of the 2008 Premiership In… Portugal .

The final would be an all Portuguese encounter to see who would take the title. These teams met in their opening group game in a match that finished 1-1. From then, Man Utd would boast the better league record and as a result would go in to this final as slight favourites. Would their epic encounter against Ipswich Town Elite take its toll though?

Well no, Man Utd started well and were the better side in the first half. Their reward was the opening goal through Antonio Zimic. The goal made Chelsea 's already difficult task so much tougher. Chelsea huffed and puffed in the late afternoon Portuguese sun but could not find a way past the Man Utd defence. Man Utd seemed content to hold on to their lead and attack intermittently.

The second half was played out evenly with little scares at either end and when the referee blew the final whistle to bring the curtain down on the 2008 Premiership In… Portugal it was the arms of the Man Utd players were raised aloft in triumph. Chelsea shook their compatriots hands but would have to content themselves with the runners-up spot.

In a strange quirk of fate, the final of the 2008 Premiership In… Portugal would reflect real life and the 2008 Premier League and 2008 Champions League Final with Chelsea and United doing battle. Not only this, but as per the professional game, the winners of this tournament would also prove to be Man Utd beating Chelsea narrowly.
