Location:

The jewel in the crown for this hotel is that it is literally just down the road from the Barcelona football stadium "Camp Nou" - we walked it in under 5 minutes so a great choice if you wish to go and see Barcelona in action or plan to do the stadium and museum tour (definitely worth doing!). The hotel is also on the right side of town for the airport so your transfers are quick and painless. Another advantage is that this property is near to our tournament venue so you will be the last pick-up in the morning (more time in bed!) and first drop-off after the tournament which means more (drinking!) time to get ready for your night out. You are a short walk and then tube journey into Plaza Catalunya and La Ramblas - allow around 30 minutes door-to-door. The metro in Barcelona is cheap and very easy to navigate.

Rooms:

There are 213 rooms in total with reclinable beds, satellite TV, free mini-bar for non alcoholic drinks and beer, safe deposit box, telephone, internet connection, air conditioning/heating and ceiling fan, coffee making facilities, CD player and iron board. The decoration is functional and comfortable. A sofa bed is also provided. All with full bathroom, hair dryer and bathrobe. Rooms are very spacious.

Services:

The restaurant offers buffet meals (breakfast and dinners). Continental breakfasts are not normally great but we can highly recommend the one at the Senator. There is a huge choice of hot and cold food and plenty of it and all good quality. The hotel also has 24 hour room service, 1 outdoor pool, gymnasium, sauna, shop, beauty parlour and laundry facilities.

The main attraction though is arguably the on-site spa and Acquaplaya. Well worth checking out.

Our Opinion:

A very good hotel. Normally when we visit venues we stay at our most budget properties to keep our overheads and therefore prices to you as low as possible. However, due to availability, a reduced rate from the hotel and the fact that this hotel was the closest to our tournament venue we stayed at the Hotel Senator and loved the hotel. The journey into the centre of town is quick and easy plus being on the doorstep of the Camp Nou is a great bonus!
